Re: ASCIIOutput, end of file marker
Well I decided to venture into the world of perl for the first time to do this since I really want to process the files server side, going down the VBA approach would have forced me to read the files across the network. After plenty of googling I got to the following script #!C:\Perl64\bin\perl.exe ...

Re: Advanced Feeders
Lukas, It will probably help if you post the exact thing that is not working plues details of the dimension, the key things to remember are Feeders only happen at the N level, irrespective of how they are written. If a ruled value is used to fed something else then it must be fed itself. The only wa...

Issue with the client on 9.4.1 FP2
It appears that there is an issue with the client side release of 9.4.1 FP2. See here and here . It would appear to be a pretty fatal issue.. Second hand advice from IBM appears to be for clients only not to upgrade to the client to FP2 and wait for FP3 to be released. This is of course not advice f...

Re: 9.4.1 FP2 - Excel Crashes when refreshing spreadsheets
There is clearly an issue with the client of 9.4.1 FP2 see also this link IBM state to use the client for 9.4.1 FP1 and wait until FP3 for a fix for the issue on the FP2 client. Can I remind users of the forum to try and update this section of the forum with known issues. Some people could have been...

Re: ASCIIOutput, end of file marker
Hi Michael, Thanks for this but I can't get it to work from TI, probably as I'm being a bit thick... Should the fileName variables contain the full path to the file or just the file name? What's the /c for? Does this specify the folder, I can't see any reference to this in any help information. EDIT...

Re: Data directory disabled in Options window
Sandhya,
Did you check where your perspectives licence is. The TM1 Client and TM1 Perspectives is the same piece of software so if you are seeing that option but greyed out it's the licence that is the problem not the software.
Cheers,

Re: VBA to trigger drill through
Ok another two things. Paul can you remember which version your script was for? I'm finding this interacts very badly with the subnm function. Once I double click on a subnm the double click for drill no longer works since the double click event seems to be totally disabled. I seem to remember that ...

ASCIIOutput, end of file marker
A very quick question, the answer may be a bit longer..
Does anyone know a way to get the end of file marker in an ASCIIOutput produced file from TI to either not be produced or an easy way to clean it out afterwards?
Cheers,

Re: VBA to trigger drill through
Just a quick update on this as I've just implemented Paul's code. First thanks to Paul for the tip. Second I had to use the visible property rather than the enabled property to test if I should run a drill. This is on Excel 2003 Sp2 and TM1 9.0.3 U9 Not sure what the cause for the difference is but ...

Hi these options are greyed out because your perspectives license is missing. I'm not sure where it goes in 9.4 but in 9.0 it goes in

Hi,
I've never seen CAM passport before. What version are you using (might be worth updating your profile) and is your system set up to use integrated log in or just vanilla TM1 stuff?

Re: Multiple instances of TM1 on one multi core server
Hi Raj good to see you've found us! I run a live and a dev server on 64 bit boxes and I don't think they trip over each other but that's not the same as having two live servers. I'm guessing it would depend on what the usage was going to be like. If you are on 9.0 then most of the hard work a server...

Re: TM19.4 TI: MySQL ODBC Fetching Records Issue
I see so that is in the data source definition? One possibility is to check that the query returns any rows? Do you get anything better without the Where clause? Like I said I'm not familiar with MySQL but is the trailing ";" required, this might be a problem since it is also TI end of lin...

Re: erros when using Cognos bi package
Hi Phani, I can't help you with your problem but you might want to change the way you are posting the screen shot, alot of people don't have word 2007 and they won't be able to see it without downloading extra content and so might not bother. Easiest way is to save the screen shot as a jpg and then ...

Hi,
Perhaps if you post the full script of your TI it may help. I've not worked with MySQL but with Oracle and M$SQL and had no problems with them.

Re: Cell level security and subset driven consolidations
Hi wissew, Agreed it's a horrid piece of functionality, I'd like to see it dropped too. From a users point of view though in can see it's attraction since they feel like they have some control. It's a shame it's not properly integrated with other pieces of functionality. I guess I'll raise a bug rep...

Cell level security and subset driven consolidations
My users are very keen on using subset driven consolidations as a means of doing ad-hoc consolidations. They like to be able to create a private subset called My Temp Total, stick a random collection of elements in the subset and then reference My Temp Total in a spreadsheet with a DBR. Personally I...

Re: TI error - File not found
One other thing that happens in my work environment is that for "security reasons" a particular server cannot see itself using it's own UNC path. So all the clients can use \\tm1prod\blah\ but "tm1prod" itself cannot access that path and I have to use the local drive path name. I...

Re: TI Process code snippet - Cache views for users
Hi shock, I think you just need the ViewConstruct TI function, there's no great complexity here?? From the help file ViewConstruct This is a TM1 TurboIntegrator function, valid only in TurboIntegrator processes. This function constructs, pre-calculates, and stores a stargate view in memory on a TM1 ...
