Rules Tracer Error
Hi, I'm experiencing an issue with a rule where I am getting a #NA in the rules tracer that leads me to believe I either have a circular reference or am dividingby zero. When I trace the error I get the following error: 1-.#IND Does anyone know what this means as I am using '\' for division and the ...

Re: Rules help
Hi Jo, You can store the current version in a 'metadata' cube as a text field, or as a text attribute on a 'metadata' dimension and reference the value in your rule. When you create a new version, you also need to update the current version value either manually, or via a TI process. As an attribute...

Re: TM1 Security
You will need to write code in the Advanced Tabs of your TI process if you want to prevent 'locked' objects from being written to/ updated during process execution. You can work out which client is logged on, and which groups they belong to, but this is relatively taxing and requires programming kno...

Re: restricting access to aliases
Thanks Alan,
I think the reporting side will use BI so I believe we can get away with your proposed solution.
Thanks,
Dan

Is there a way to restrict access to available aliases?
I've tried element security on the }ElementAttributes dimension and it didn't work...
Thanks,
Dan

This can also be resolved by adding the URL to trusted sites in IE.

Re: TM1 Contributor Access Issue
Managed to fix the issue! This was caused by using the fully qualified server name in the settings for the Contributor TM1 Web client. Log into Contributor as an Admin Click on spanner and screwdriver icon on right-hand side of page (Administer IBM Cognos TM1 Contributor) Select Client (usually only...

Re: TM1 Contributor Access Issue
Yes, Tomcat 6.
I can connect to Contributor and create the application and I can see the Contributions and Reviews when I go into the application but get the credentials box once I try to open in web.

TM1 Contributor Access Issue
Hi, TM1 web is working fine, as is the Contributor application development environment. However, when I try to 'contribute' via contributor and open up a node in TM1 web, I'm prompted for login credentials. I have added 'Everyone' and added all permissions to the wwwroot and subfolders, and as I sai...

Re: TM1 Contributor Error
I think you should be allowed alternative hierarchies in the dimension, as long as the subset created and selected as the approval hierarchy has a single top level parent. Can someone confirm this? I'm pretty sure I created a test dimension with this setup earlier today and contributor didn't compla...

TM1 Contributor Error
Hi, I'm having an issue with contributor where I select an approval hierarchy with 1 top level member and Contributor gives me an error telling me that my subset contains more than 1 top level consolidation. It lists the actual top level consolidation and ALL n-level elements (which are not top leve...

tm1 format to nearest thousand
I'm looking to format a figure to the nearest thousand: 1,234 displayed as 1,000 As far as I can tell I'll need to create a format dimension and do this via a rule (not ideal) Before I venure down this path, is there something obvious that I'm missing that means I can do this using custom formatting...

Using a data source on a sharepoint server for TM1
I'm trying to access a file via TI residing on a sharepoint server. I have given the service account the necessary permissions to access the folder the file resides in, and can access the folder using windows explorer when on the server. When I run the TI process however, I get a "unable to ope...

Upgrade Issue TM1 8.X to Cognos Express 9.5
I'm having an issue with TM1 security, after upgrading from 8.X to CX 9.5. After successfully installing the server, installing the Xcelerator client on a new machine works fine. However, when I install the Xcelerator client on a machine that has previously had the old add-in installed, when logging...

Re: Cognos Express Xcelerator Native Security
The client tm1p.ini file needs to have the following line:
AllowImportCAMClients = F
Then Native Security (Client and Group management) will work.
Special thanks to Herman for pointing this out.

Re: Cognos Express Xcelerator Native Security
I have tried this. Setting the Security Mode to 1 or 2 allows users to log in using Native Security, but if I then try to add clients/ groups, rather than adding clients and groups within TM1, I am prompted to log into CAM and manage from the Express web-based client.

Cognos Express Xcelerator Native Security
I'm having trouble setting up CAM security for Xcelerator. Is there any way to switch off CAM as my client is not planning to use any of the other Cognos Express products and would like to manage users/ groups within TM1.
Thanks in advance,
Dan
