Does the online documentation work for him? It's working for me on FF3. Could be a workaround until you sort this issue out.

Re: TM1 Network performance problem
After playing around for an hour or so this morning, I highly recommend anyone using TM1 Web take a look at Firefox 3.0. The rendering engine has been significantly improved, and I find websheet performance to be dramatically faster. Anyway, here are the results of my testing with Firebug. The xls t...

Re: Attribute Rules
Yup, I believe cells in attribute cubes behave like strings, no matter the element type. If you need to do math, make a regular cube instead of using attributes.John Hobson wrote:Is there something about attribute cubes that stops you performing calculations like this?

Re: TM1 Network performance problem
This is very interesting info-- we also have quite a few users connecting over long distances with very poor performance. I don't have any info to add, but please let us know if you learn more or if Cognos responds.
Thanks,
Matt

I haven't done a thorough check or run this on my server. But, I did notice that you used RANK which is not supported in TM1 Web.

Thanks all for the ideas. I've gone with the IF + macro + warning dialog method-- seems like that's what you're all doing.

Re: Using 9.1
How many people are using 9.1 SP3? Or are most people still using a lower version? We've been using 9.1 SP2 U3 for a few months now without any major issues. There is one bugfix they did for me in 9.1 SP3, but due to other reported issues with that release I haven't migrated yet. If a non-admin sel...

DBS/DBSW
Anyone have some best methods to share regarding model-building with DBS/DBSWs? We've been using simple input templates until now, but I'd like to get some of the more advanced users to tie their models directly into TM1. However, since these models get archived/reopened a lot, I'm concerned about o...

Re: Hold Cubes
9.1 SP2 U3. Any that have accumulated do seem to disappear when the server is restarted (infrequently), so I guess this behavior is normal. I've just been doing a lot of control cube work lately, and the long list was bugging me. Guess I'll have to cope... Thanks!

Hold Cubes
As I read the docs, a user must have RESERVE rights to be able to create a hold. None of my users have RESERVE, only system accounts used for replication, but I keep seeing "}hold_*" cubes pop up. Is this a bug or do I have a misuderstanding of the security model?

The second one I'm not sure what to make of it. This entry was appearing regularly but not on any schedule that I can identify: 4104 INFO 2008-06-05 09:19:44,146 TM1.Comm.SSL SSL read error. Re: Error Setting Process Property
I've had this problem when I have set the delimiter to "Other" and entered more than one character, as I wanted to delimit by 3 spaces. Although it allows you to enter more than one character, it won't save the process. This is in 9.1 Sp3. That's it-- exactly what I was trying to do. You'...

Re: TM1 crashes when saving rule
What version of TM1 are you running: x86 or x64? If x86, have you enabled the /3gb swtich in boot.ini? If not, TM1 can only use up to 2GB of system RAM. I assume that TM1 uses some additional memory during the commit process that's not necessary when computing from scratch.

Re: Error Setting Process Property
Are you running a Windows or Unix server? I'm running TM1 9.1 SP2 U3 on Windows Server 2003 x64. Have you tried to save the process with "Save As ..." and giving it another name? Closing and reopening after saving the process might be helpful as well. This was a new process started from s...

Re: Best Practice: XRate Retreival
I think the best option is Tony's-- I'm sure it's easier to grab the data from an internal ODBC source, and your data will be aligned with other internal users. If it is not available internally, the next best way to get it is to use Perl. You can write a really trivial script (literally a one-liner...

Error Setting Process Property
Has anyone ever encountered a "Error setting Process Property" error when trying to save a TI process?
All I did was set up an ASCII data source and set the variable names and types-- when trying to save I got the error which is, not surprisingly, totally unhelpful....

Re: TM1 64bit and 32bit
The next release of TM1, 9.4, is suppose to be a monster and NOT backwards compatible Could you please be more explicit about this ? It's those kind of sentences thas give me nightmares :o IBM/Cognos has said that there is a data file format change between 9.1 and 9.4. When you start up a database ...

Re: Forum Structure
Not had a response from either Applix or Cognos email addresses yet, but i'm suspecting some mixup where they think i'm no longer responsible for TM1 here. We've had a change in the licenising here and i've been nervous that our IT mob haven't been on the ball where payments and responsibilities ar...
