Re: Millennium Bug

Hi Jim That was just an example - the important thing is the conversion factor. Date serial numbers in Excel start at 1900, and in TM1 they start at 1960. That conversion factor of - 21916 is the number of days different between 1st Jan 1900 and 1st Jan 1960. I suspect that you might be hitting a p...

Re: Millennium Bug

Paul the issue is that anything below the year 2000 is not being converted from a numeric to a string correctly so if you look at the image you can see highlighted it's converting 11/01/1991 in to 04/06/1971, yet for 06/30/2008 it converts it correctly. I've done this with both TimSt and TimVl. I ge...

Millennium Bug

Could you believe it I think I've found a Millennium bug 20 years late. I have the following rule: [{'Forecast Live','Final Capital Plan','Workplan-Latest','Capital Plan Workspace','Capital Plan Snapshot'},{'Stage 1','Stage 2','Stage 3','Stage 4','Stage 5'},{'Start Date','End Date'},'String'] = S: I...

A little bit of help with world domination!!

Guys, I'm not normally one to ask for favors but I was wondering if you could help me out? As some of you may or may not know I build PCs for fun. (Yes I know) One of my builds has made it through to the final of a national competition. The winners prize is a load of goodies including a brand spanki...

Move to 5. It's combined and takes away the issue. That or a network ID that doesn't have a password that expires and include the login string in the batch files, for example domain\user,

This could many things. You need to at least put some of your code up so we can eliminate some of the possibilities,

Quite similar to Planning / Adaytum which isn't surprising considering it's the same developers. It has features that are nice but some issues, including (as you hinted) scalability.

Not sure about PAX but I've always found the excel timing of both to be different. It'd be interesting to see if that has changed,

Re: IBM License Metric Tool?

I am gearing up psychologically for this as I have a virtualization and migration project with 5 servers at a client coming up soon. Sounds like heaps of fun! Will probably keep notes as I go, for my own sanity, and share once successful. Keep in mind these things: 1) You're installing Big Fix, not...

Re: IBM License Metric Tool?

Happened on this link to the License Metric Tool 9.2.0 product page - may be useful. And from the Quick Start Guide , see ILMT on YouTube , the Wiki and the discussion forum . Some of it is useful, some not so much. The problem I found is the tool isn't very intuitive so you really have to try and ...

Re: IBM License Metric Tool?

Another question, is Planning Analytics Workspace PVU-based? I think it isn't. Therefore ILMT doesn't need to monitor that server. Am I right? Thanks. It detects all of your installs as long as the Big Fix client and masthead are installed on the PAW machine. Once you've mapped all the installs it'...

Re: Question about DimensionElementInsertDirect

It would not make much sense using DimensionElementInsertDirect in Metadata as DimensionElementInsert would do the same thing. I did however do this inadvertently because I copied code from Data to Metadata and it crashed my server (10.2.2 FP4) I have also found severe performance degradation using...

I've still got 2013 installed on one of my machines at home as I like the ribbon.

Re: Perspectives and Office 2013

We had an old 9.5 perspectives client that worked fine with Excel 2010 and gives this message now we have upgraded to 2013. Version 9.5? Isn't that about 10+ years old now? That's longer than a human lifetime in software years. I wish you luck. Just glad I am not being asked to fix this. May be the...

I can access http://{ip_address}:9510/tm1web from external access.
Is it just pmpsvc that is not working from external access.
It may be a script that's being blocked? This may be one for IBM. Support will have a better idea of how to log such things.

Re: Could not log on to any of the available servers with available credentials over internet

You need to check with your IT department. The security credentials (hand shakes etc) tend to be more aggressive for outside access. Is the server even available to the web? Most servers I work with have no net access,

Re: RAM Speeds

Because as RAM clock speeds go up each operation takes more clock cycles, increasing the relative latency, therefore you cannot expect to double your performance. A more realistic outcome would be a 10-20% improvement, depending on many additional hardware and software factors. That depends on the ...

Re: "Lock" Actual Data in a forecast application

The way I've done it in the past and do at the current client is to have actual and forecast as seperate versions. Have an actual flag on the time dimension, then pull via rules actual data in to forecast when the flag is set. This way you lock the actual periods via rules (no security needed) and y...
