Re: Create View and Transfer Data in TI?

To reiterate (partly), I always: - create an easy view manually (not with a } at the beginning because I think that this is destined for control objects pur sang). I already take the same name as my temporary view (during the process) will be called. - use it as the source of the process - create t...

Re: Create View and Transfer Data in TI?

How do I get variables for the dimension elements though? When you use the GUI it assigns variables like V1, V2 etc for each dimension. I think we need to go back a few steps and explain a few things. Firstly and most importantly when assigning a view dynamically the process needs to be set up as a...

Re: Dimension Consolidation Not Working With Rules

Kevin, What you are describing is classic underfeeding. Assuming the cube is not unloaded, once a cell is fed it STAYS FED for the remainder of the server session. A cell can be fed either from a feeder or from underlying data. That is why removing the rule entirely then entering data then replacing...

Re: function to use for selecting element by attribute value

Use DimensionElementPrincipalName() in a TI Process to get the Element name of the attribute. The OP is wanting to select elements by a numeric attribute value, this will not help. vinnusea - you can do what you want and quite easily. Use SubsetCreateByMDX to create a filtered subset of your dimens...

Re: Very Bizarre Excel Issue

The issue with multiple column selection does sound very unusual, I haven't ever seen or heard of this before. The issue you are having with single cell copy/paste emptying the clipboard is (however unwanted) normal behaviour when using TM1 perspectives. This is to do with the single value send rath...

Re: Unable to load Architect after change in Server Name

Server is running TM1 9.1 SP3 (32-bit) and remote client is TM1 9.5.1 As explained in the operations guide and countless times on this forum, you cannot connect a newer client to an older server. Other than that if multiple TM1 servers on the same admin host are configured to use either the same se...

Re: Qustion About Have String and Number elements both

I think you need to explain more fully what you are trying to do and why but you should be aware that in a TM1 cube it is the last dimension that determines whether data can be stored as numeric or string. Therefore it is only whether the element type is string of the last dimension of the cube that...

Re: Server cfg recomended for TM1 9.4.1

You are going to have to give a fair bit more information to get any useful help. How many CPUs? What % of available RAM is spare? What is the application (read only, read/write, calculation intensity, etc.)? What is the security model like (cube security only, element security, cell security)? Are ...

Re: Downloaded 9.5.0 - Where is the .exe file?

Hi Richard - I would certainly hope that you have at least downloaded 9.5.1 and not 9.5.0. The first 9.5 release was a little rushed, the .1 is much improved.

Re: Function Percent Change in a TI?

Percent change is just a variation on proportional spread with some high level precursor arithmetic before doing the proportional spread. Taking a cell input percent change and then applying the math to multiply against the starting value and then proportional spread is nothing that can't be achieve...

Re: Default Security on Dimension Elements

Don't confuse element security with cube security and dimension security. If users only have read access to a cube then this is what will apply and the distinction between lock, reserve, write, read element security (for that cube) will be irrelevant. Generally element security should only be applie...

Re: Transaction Log Query for Non Admin

Instead of building an interface from scratch you can create a drill process to retrieve the required data from you SQL database. I thought about mentioning that but didn't want to overcomplicate things initially. It can be a good solution as the drill throughs are built within TM1 they can be made...

Re: Transaction Log Query for Non Admin

If you only need users to be able to query the transaction logs as opposed to actually being able to back out records then the best solution is to load the logs to a relational database and let the users query the database. This is easy to implement and can provide for a much nicer and faster experi...

Why not define the views in TI where you can set subsets for each dimension, define the title dimensions and row and column dimensions and nesting order and then call the process via VBA from excel then haul out the view with VUSLICE? (maybe the only issue with this approach is that the views would ...

Re: Condicional Formatting/TM1 Web

As Martin has said, more information is needed in order to help you.

In 9.4.1 and 9.5.0 conditional formatting does not work in active forms in TM1 Web (the conditional format gets applied only to the 1st row of the active form). This is fixed in 9.5.1

I tried ElementSecurityPut, but the user who executes the process must have data security rights, which the normal user does not have. You need to ensure that the "Security Access" option for the process is checked (to do this right-click the process name). Then you just need to give a gr...
