Re: Adding element to a dimension at run time in TI

Are you sure about that Declan ? If an element exists as C and you try to insert the same element as N, nothing happens. Sorry you are correct about this, a dimensionelementinsert statement is completely ignored if the element already exists. I should have said if you do dimensionelementdelete and ...

Re: Adding element to a dimension at run time in TI

I always just use dimensionelementcomponentadd without first doing an insert when it's for n level elements. TM1 will always make an element be an N level if it is put through a dimensionelementcomponentadd and doesn't already exist. The only time it will be a C level is if it already existed before...

Re: Feeders for Rules

['Global Margin', Currency:'USD'] =N: ['Full Revenue'] - ['INC Standard Cost']; If you feed a rule that is a subtraction, you will have to feed from both parts of the subtraction. I dint understand here , all i know is if there is a value for full revenue then feed global margin . How to feed from ...

Re: Concatenated string with Expand Function

Wim's suggested code should work well. I used the code ,no error on saving the TI , but when I run the process I get an error, the element vrollingroup1 Dimension element not found. What is the exact error you received? It may be a typo in the forum rather than the code but your variable suggests it...

Re: Perspectives hang when performing a slice or snapshot to Excel

Does the user have any other excel add-ins loaded? If so try disabling them all and then testing again.
I remember TM1 having issues with certain other add-ins previously but I can't really remember the exact issues experienced or which add-ins caused it.

Re: Subset present but with no code in its dimension process

Just to add an extra thought to rule out the simplest answers; are you definitely deleting the subsets prior to running the TI and then it creates them? If not it could just be that they were created manually at some point in time. Sorry if this seems a stupid question to ask but we all miss the obv...

Jules, thank you so much for coming onto the forum on my request, I appeciate all the help you've given me. I have done both solutions and they both work. Again, thank you so much. Happy to hear that your problem has been solved. Just to offer an alternative to the rule approach to any future users...

Re: CELLPUTN

Rules are a possible option but if it needs to be fed then doing so will at best be annoying and at worse a huge memory drain (due to likely over feeding.) On the TI approach I would avoid using the dimension index due to the issues mentioned above, even if the order is correct now it is easy for so...

Re: Default Element on TM1 Web Reports

First of all it shouldn't "bomb out" if they don't have access; that's something worth looking at in more detail. But as to your actual question, for active forms you can make the title elements SUBNMs where instead of referencing an element it references an index number, so a 1 would return the fir...

Re: Web Form Date Format

Excel should be fine; this is something I first started implementing a while ago... think the express customer is still using excel 2007 or 2010 due to the whole awful process of installing CX back then meaning it had a hissy fit if it didn't detect what it deemed to be the correct version of excel ...

Re: Web Form Date Format

That's interesting; it's something I have used a lot - we have 1 customer still using it in a lot of web forms for cognos express 10.1. Maybe it needs to be the same format as your regional settings? I think to be fair what I specifically tend to use is dashes instead of blanks, so without logging i...

Re: Web Form Date Format

You just need to use the excel formatting to indicate what to do for zero value so "dd-mm-yy;;" will display as blank for minus and zero. Problem is when you enter a date from blank; the web format can be annoying and require it in a very specific format dependent on region (more specific than chang...

Re: Adding Headers and Footers to Dimensions in Perspectives

You can't have a row in the middle of an active form that isn't data. If you absolutely need it to be exactly this format then I can think of 2 options. 1/ I don't recommend this but you can have element names there and then use formatting to hide the data (same font as background colour) you can us...

Re: Unable to update attribute of large dimension

Sounds unusual. If your "level 0" subset is MDX based it could possibly be locking the dimension and stopping you updating the attribute. Try changing the process to have no source and just loop through the dim in the prolog and then check if the style of the element is N if so you process the code ...

Re: Dynamically Updating Elements and Suppressing Zeroes in Perspectives

The formatting area is defined by a named range so you can just change the named range to include extra columns. Then within the formatting area you end up with you can do pretty much anything with conditional formatting and a bit of imagination.

Re: Dynamically Updating Elements and Suppressing Zeroes in Perspectives

You can still show data to the left of the active form.
Just insert columns and populate the top row with formulas (DBRW etc.) and then rebuild and they will be there... you may need to reference a separate view statement instead of the active form view though.

Re: Validate that several version match (archive and Working forecast)

Its relatively easy to have a process check whether it's source is equal to numeric or string values in the same cube reference with a different version; then it could output differences to a cube or just a txt log file of differences found. The question that is always worth asking here though is wh...
