Re: ExecuteProcess with too few parameters supplied

I LOVE this behavior in TM1 Execute Process. Without this, I would never EVER add a new parameter to an existing process. The list of places (Cognos Insight button, Excel worksheets action buttons, other TI processes, command line batch files in 10.2) from where processes could be called is endless...

Re: Using VBA to connect to TM1 application

I am doing exactly waht smorgan is. Using a combination of techniques as advised herein by others, you should be able to get it going fairly quickly. Incude: Screenupdating=false Recalc mode=manual and do strategic calcs only where necessary Create a new workbook for each iteration Proper VIEW() fun...

Re: Cube Performance Tuning

I would examine older data in the cube to see if you can hard-copy it; thus preventing the rule from calculating loads of historic results for what is probably no useful business purpose.

Re: Consolidation vs Rule problem

I just found this post which, though the facts are slightly different, does address it as a potential bug.

Re: Feederless rules and zero suppression

Although not terribly clearly expressed, this post of mine records a similar effect (zero-suppressed calculated C values disappearing) where weightings are not zero but are 1 and -1.

Consolidation vs Rule problem

Happy New Year All, Apologies if this kind of issue has appeared previouly and I missed it whilst searching. It is a comprehension issue rather than looking for a workaround (we have plenty available) and it is a very complex problem that I cannot explain writing, so please consult the attached if y...

Re: MDX across summary/detail dimensions

It's just possible TM1Dunk, that this may be of interest - it is a VBA tool for doing apparently just what you are. Please use with caution - it's only something I knocked up for personal/in house use.

Re: MDX across summary/detail dimensions

As with all complex problems, breaking this into non-complex chunks may be the best solution, especially if you are the only one in a department with advanced MDX skills that couldn't be understood or maintained by others. Or by yourself 2 years down the line. I try to apply a sort of 'Occam's Razor...

Re: MDX across summary/detail dimensions

How about creating a cube called 'Office' or something, with your two dims plus a measures one with a string element in. Then put 'Y' in the cube against each matching Summary+Detail combination. Then you could use MDX to read 'Y' values in the cube that match your selection. (see page 11 of the MDX...

Cube File Copier

If anyone has found it laborious to copy a cube and its associated files from one folder to another (perhaps to migrate a cube from a test to a live environment) then the attached may help. To use (tested in Excel 2007 but will probably work in XP too): 1. Log in to a TM1 server in Perspectives 2. L...

Rationalise the GUI and feature set.

I would like to see an overhaul of the entire TM1 interface so that we have a consistent set of features with clear purposes across all the components, both Web and Desktop. You could say that IBM's ambitious and on the whole praiseworthy TM1 evolutionary roadmap is more 'punctuated equilibrium' tha...

Re: Persistent Feeders in TM1 9.5.1

I have also noticed on one occasion that, despite TM1 reporting that it discovered a mismatch on a .cub vs .feeders timestamp, and would therefore delete and re-create all feeder files, this did not actually happen. .feeders files still existed on the server 4 hours later with timestamps from 10 day...

In case anyone is still reading this (I was) after 2 years....... You can get balnk rows by adding another column to the right of the active form and filling it with wrapped text. - Supposing: 1. you want Active Form level '1' lines to appear with a space below; 2. the first row of your active form ...

Re: TM1 Audit Log reports

I find the TM1 audit log utility good for small queries but, shall we say, 'limited' for anything large. You can use the attached Excel VBA code to get logical tuples out of an Audit Log file. (free but with no warranty implied or given as to its functionality). TM1 Audit logs are structured mainly ...

Re: Turbointegrator string parameter - trim enter

I'm guessing the enquirer means how to remove the "Enter String" or carriage return character - ASCII code 13, from a passed parameter. In theory, a string that contained a carriage return could be cleansed in TI with something like: DELET( pString, SCAN( CHAR(13), pString), 1); I haven't ...
