Re: Server crash due to subset corruption
Just thoughtof something else. Have you tried turning the logging on to maximum to make sure you track every calculation. This may also give you something that you can pass on to Cognos Support. (To find out how to change your logging setting check out the operations that you'll fidn in the installa...

Re: Server crash due to subset corruption
Sounds like a viable answer. Do you have a backup server that you can test this theory on? If not you could always try smaller chunks say on a laptop. The later is not ideal as it is not a true reflection of your live environment but it may lead you to a more specific cause. (If there is one.)

Re: Citrix Undefined Issue
I would suggest looking at the citrix security settings. It sounds like (for what ever reason) that write back via your citrix pipe has been disabled,

Re: Server crash due to subset corruption
Hi Greg, I have not experienced this problem before the way I would get round it is: 1) Bring the server down. 2) Delete the subset off the hard drive. 3) Restart server. 4) rebuild the subset as soon as the server is back up. This should solve any file corruption problems. If if it still occurs the...

Re: Sharing views among non-admin users
Martin, I do see the benefit of being able to share views. I don't think it is seen as urgent by most people as you can dump the view in to excel and email it to people which basically achieves the same thing. I do feel however this takes away from the cube viewer. I feel it would be more utilised i...

Re: Sharing views among non-admin users
Very true. it is a real pain for us as some of our cubes are very big. We shift at least 2 years worth of data (via TI and due to hierarchy changes) each week. We use views for this and as you can imagine they are quit big,

Re: Feeders between cubes
Right here we go...... In this example we have cube A and cube B. Cube B is very similar to cube B but it has one more dimension Cube A Time Measures Cube B Locations Time Measures Say you have a sales value in cube A and you want to split it across the locations in cube B. The rule in cube B might ...

Re: Sharing views among non-admin users
The only way round the TI thing I found was to set a naming standard for them and tell all users. I currently name all TI views "z - example". Starting every one with Z means that they always appear at the bottom of the view list,

Re: Sharing views among non-admin users
This is indeed a pain. When somebody creates a view the will more than likely want to publish it. In the current format the only possible way is by excel. This pushes users away from server explorer in to excel. This may (and does) make users think that TM1 is nothing more than a tool for dumping da...

Re: Feeders between cubes
To feed across a dimension you need to feed a consolidation that is a parent for evey element. Leaving it as !A Dimension will just try to feed the equivelant name from the current cube,

Re: Error in IBM TM1 9.4 Web login
If I remeber rightly it can be found within the edit configuration page within the .net panel in the picture above. By defualt .net uses a user called something net. If you right click on my computer, select manage and then go to users you will see it there. (Apologies if this has changed in server ...

Re: Error in IBM TM1 9.4 Web login
Guys,
I had a problem similar to this a few weeks ago. What I did was change the user used by .net to the admin user and worked fine. You could try this or you could try updating the permissions on the .net user,
Jim.

I worked on a client that was using Sage Line 50 and they were able to export data to flat file. I think they were doing it manually though. I'm not completely certain, it was over 7 years ago,
