Re: Licensing

You're using one licence to create some Excel reports and then sending them out. There's no need for the recipients to use a TM1 licence. I don't see a licence issue here - why do you think there is one?

Re: TM1 10.3 - IBM Planning Analytics

I was at an IBM workshop the other week where the presenters were pretty sure of November as the On Premise release. Normal caveats apply.

Try Application.Run "TM1REFRESH" rather than "TM1RECALC". Also, the search box above is your friend.

Re: Need help with SUBDEFINE. Could not find anything that was solved. Please help.

Try replacing "A1:A10" with Worksheets("Worksheetname").Range("A1:A10") The whole thing should read x = Application.Run("SUBDEFINE", "dev1.dev.boa.com:HeadCount", "testVBss", Worksheets("Worksheetname".Range("A1:10")) Ob...

Re: Send encrypted email out of TI

One solution would be to write the email to text on the TM1 Server and have some VBA in an Outlook instance which looped round any text files in the directory and used the text to send the email. The advantage here is that you are just using VBA and Outlook's built-in encryption. The disadvantage is...

All of BI, or just the admin bit as lotsaram suggests? I mean, just to be clear ;)

Re: Insight 2015

Convert to values is good... but bulk paste would be better.
According to what I saw at the London Cubewise conference I think they have the bulk paste sorted as well.

So, what happens when you create that view, make it public, and the user tries to open the public version?

Re: User reporting Unable to open the saved private views.

As Wim said. it doesn't matter how much memory the user has on his PC, it's the memory on the server (where the calc is being done) that matters. To echo Wim: either change the MaximumViewSize or educate the user not to attempt to pull down such a large view or figure out why that view is causing pr...

Re: Renaming a TM1 Service

I think you're making life too complicated for yourself (and, in the future, others). It's not like it's overly difficult or time consuming to delete the Planning Service service and put a new one up.

Well, Bedrock is a) free and would b) give you some clues as to how to do what you want to do, even if you don't use the Bedrock code.

What does the end of your tm1server.log file say? Is there sufficient disk space for the save? Have you checked the Windows event logs?

Interesting, Kamil. Could you expand? What would you do with, say, a dimension that you can't create from another system?

Re: Deploying Updated TI files

If you amend or write a new TI process on your dev server, and then copy it to your production server, then you need to restart the production server for it to recognise the amended or new TI process. If there weren't many changes, it is in theory possible to cut and paste the amended process from d...

Re: Monthly Poll 201510 - Do you plan to use CAFE as a replacement or supplement for Client and Why?

I agree with George, but from a slightly different angle. I can see running some Clients, but I'd love for CAFE to have the same (or mostly similar) functionality as Perspectives. I could then dump the Citrix overhead/complication and the headache that can be with IT. I guess what I want (and have a...

Re: Rules to pull data from one cube to another when dimensions do not match

If you already have a TI working that identifies which sales person is responsible for which client, then (assuming there is a one to many relationship sales person->clients) would it not be worth considering making the whole thing a TI? Then you have each client as an element of the relevant sales ...

Have you tried a full domain name = e.g. servername.yourdomain.com:8099/? Otherwise, are you not in maintenance with Cubewise, as they should be able to troubleshoot?
