Re: If You Could ask the TM1 Development Team a Question....

It means real solutions to things expected of enterprise systems - object promotion and synchronization tools for D-Q-P This is the single simplest fix to implement - a feature to unload and reload single TIs from disk with a feature to repeat the initial load from disk of all .pro files. It could ...

Re: If You Could ask the TM1 Development Team a Question....

I would like to see 1. The end of the symmetric dimension philosophy and the introduction of specialised time and measure dimensions that would allow a degree of consistency across applications and tighter integration with such tools as BI. 2. The introduction of Layered dimensions with constraints ...

Re: TM1 Service not Stopping

The stop service command tries to shut the TM1 service down in an orderly manner. However I believe that the stop service command has a time out and does not wait until the shutdown is complete. 1. Is there a job running that means the condition to shut the server down never comes true in time? You ...

Re: Cryptic TM1 Messages Decoded

Thanks Michael. TM1 Feeders do not get triggered on attribute change. Think this par for the course only data value changes to the cube where the feeder is located seem to do this. Feeder containing ATTRS statement is treated as conditional though I havent tested whether REEVALUATECONDITIONALFEEDERS...

Cube Viewer Hierarchy expands upwards instead of downwards

You have Filter -> Sort set which is changing the order of the display

Re: WS2008R2 -Anyone tried this with TM1 90 64 Bit?

Thanks for your reply Jim Its good to hear that the client can run fine under a VM. What we were thinking of attempting was to run a test version of our 952 server on the same box as our 90 instance. Iam assuming you cannot do this without virtualisation because of .dll hell etc with one different v...

Re: Slow GUIs: Why?

As you observe when you use the }Element_Atttributes~.cub to do the same thing editing the attributes is pretty much instant.

I think the application is just badly written and there's no pressure for them to fix it.

Re: Cubeview and Sub Editor frozen intermittently

One more and this is a left field thing: Hardware failure intermittent then repaired for both memory and disk will give the behaviour you describe however with modern servers and specialised support this should nt happen. (But as we all know the PR provided by Outsourcing companies that you are runn...

Re: Cubeview and Sub Editor frozen intermittently

Only time I saw this happening without it being a comms problem which you have eliminated by running on server is: 1. Cube is load on demand or has been unloaded. 2. TM1 space has been swapped out to disk and you have the wait till the pages return. 3. TM1 is running on a VM that does not have enoug...

Re: Cube Viewer (CV)/Subset Editor (SE) Enhancements

When you make a selection in CV it should show the total on the status bar at the bottom like excel does. It might usefully also show the count but anything beyond that is overkill.

If anyone knows a neat way of determining the total without slicing the data to excel then I would be pleased to know.

Cannot find dimension element containing a dash

Answer

Dash is em dash that you copied in from word or emai program - always type your dashes into TM1 directly.

WS2008R2 -Anyone tried this with TM1 90 64 Bit?

We are currently WS2003 TM1 90 64 Bit.

When we move to 9.5.2 we would like to use the virtualisation features of 2008R2 to run test systems etc

We would be interested to hear from those who've tried this or have any advice on O/S upgrades with TM1.

Would using VMWare under WS2003 be simpler?

TIA.
