Re: TM1 v Anaplan

As we all know it was built by the original adatym team, but it certainly is not adatym in the cloud. No dlinks, cube size isssues, slice only calcs, clunky contributor admin, bugs, hardware, client installs, dated analyst front end etc. They understand the limitations of EP, but the power of self s...

Re: TM1 v Anaplan

Anaplan competes very well with TM1, actually allows you to build solutions quickly with lower costs overall, not too good for any consultants out there as they will have less work as a result. Price points around the same as Cognos Express licensing, alot less than TM1... Data Integration - either ...

Re: Calculate Rank Order based on weighting

I ended up doing following steps: 1) TI process - creates subset through MDX using parameters (no datasource) - rank was ASC 2) TI process - create a static subset with MDX dynamic subset as datasource - used the order of the dynamic subset to ensure DESC order in static 3) TI process - Attached sta...

Re: Calculate Rank Order based on weighting

Hi, Went down the path of TI process...using 9.5.2 seems to have an issue with Dynamic Subsets in a view for a Ti process Data Soource... any ordering is ignored through ORDER MDX... although when you look at the view of the cube in cube viewer it is ok (and ok in subset editor)... just some random ...

Calculate Rank Order based on weighting

Hi, I am aiming to use Contributor component of TM1 so would like to do this in rules, but may have to calculate through a TI if not... I have a cube that calculates a weighting for leaf node project elements within a portfolio dimension, this weighting I want to use to rank each item from number 1,...

Design of a cube/s when users want to slice two sparse dims

Hi, I have a request to build what could be an ugly cube with Month x Year x Version x Measures ($) and include a company Employee list (1500 people and expanding) x Position list (1500 and expanding - essentially a one to one map to Employee with a couple exceptions). Hence if I report in the now a...

Hi ADW, we ended up just going for every .log file 3 weeks or older deleted once a week using the script from Marcus. Also restart service at same time

Deply objects to Production without impacting current models

Hi, I am after the most effecient way to deploy from Dev to Prod. In Dev environemnt we have created Cubes, some Dims manually, but also have TI processes that update Dims (shell of dim created manually). Some of the Dims are shared with current production models already deployed. Should we hunt rou...

Re: TM1 TI Process with messy data source csv

thanks for quick response, looks like what I want, will try this out in morning and tell you how it goes... I assume the itemskip in metadata will just take me straight to data tab, not go to next row in data source and continue with metadata processing ( next rows do not have 'end of dimension data...

TM1 TI Process with messy data source csv

Hi all, just a data source processing question for TM1 TI I build a dimension in TM1 TI off a .csv which has a table followed by a second table on same worksheet. I do not want to touch or continue processing off the second table so I want metadata (dim structure build) and data (attributes) to stop...

Re: CXMD Cognos Express security TM1

yes, possible a fall back if everything went pear shaped and you couldnt access the CX server through SSO integrated security, you would revert back the IntegratedSecurityMode in tm1s.cfg and people will appreciate your initiative, pat on back all round... but, maybe change the default admin user pa...

Re: CXMD Cognos Express security TM1

Hi, I couldnt get a straight answer from IBM Cognos on licensing for the built in TM1/CX 'Admin' user so we left as ADMIN security (although we do not use it and cannot unless we change the IntegratedSecurityMode). Our IntegratedSecurityMode setting for SSO in tm1s.cfg for Cognos Express is '5' Also...

Re: Managing TI Usage with Multiple People

Hi just working through this post and we have a similar control cube as tomok describes for a user run TI process. if you want to keep people from bumping into each other with the TI you can create a "Control" cube, if you don't already have one, and have an element called "TI Running...
