Re: Flow TM1 Rule Editor
Seeing as we can't get the advanced editor working within a virtualised distribution of TM1 this looked promising, but is there any way to use it without the need for editing environment variables or running an installer? I have a tightly controlled environment which does not allow me to do either o...

Re: What is the use of adding dimension in existing cube...
Hi, Can any of us highlight the use of adding new dimension in existing cube, when after adding dimension we have to re-write all the rules and re-build the TI process. Which takes the same time and efforts as we create new cube. Is there any use of this functionality ?? Thanks In a word - none. It...

Operations Console Setup
Does anyone know what it is about a TM1 service that will expose it to the Ops Console? I have 1 server with 9 services running, but only 5 of them show in the OC list when trying to add servers to monitor. I've compared the tm1s.cfg files and nothing stands out as an issue, but i also can't find an...

Re: TM1 10.2 Available for Download
First run - seems like one service had me locked out, the other was OK, both using same credentials. Means if you are locked out of 1 service, you won't be able to get to any of them via PM. Awaiting training for 10.2 so i'm blazing a trail based on my existing TM1 experience & the user guides.....

Re: TM1 10.2 Available for Download
Can someone with 10.2 using Performance Modeler confirm what i've just witnessed on my test server? Logged in to PM using the incorrect password. Instead of the error message "incorrect user name or password" i got "maximum number of log in attempts exceeded". Error handling, not...

Re: downgrade tm1 from 10.1.1 to 9.5.2
why not just update the server to 10.1.1? IBM will pull support to 9.5.2 eventually, keeping with 10.1.1 would mean you'd have longer on a single version. I'd only ever contemplate downgrading if a later version has critical issues stopping models from working.

Re: What is the best way to deploy from dev to prod?
It's a common question & one IBM still hasn't come up with a decent solution for, probably because it doesn't look sexy enough in a sales meeting  Replication is at best, flakey. It's main issue it the reliance upon logged changes. If you manipulate a lot of data then replication could take...

Re: TI Process - Parameter
With the standard stuff TM1 provides? No. We do that via a cube & a set of TIs which are used to track certain things like parameters, who ran it, time it took etc and incorporate that code within our existing TIs that are processing the data.

Is this possibly a duplicate posting? There's a very similar recent question by "Ravi" - "extract client details" Yes. Yes it is. Infact Ravi's post was a duplicate too. Please use the search feature, it's really very good ;) http://www.tm1forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=6798

Re: Tracking User Logins
Remember that performance monitor is only a current snapshot, not a historic reporting tool. if you want a full history then you would be better to write something that pulls the relevant entries from the server logs then upload those to a cube which you can keep the history in.

Superb, a nice simple way of filling a glaring functionality hole in the TI editor I'll move this to the useful code section, thanks.

Re: whend does TI commit values to TM1?
Old thread but still very useful. Think i need to add that (in 9.5.2 at least) if a chore runs that alters dimension structures, even if another part of the chore unrelated to the dimension build itself has just minor errors (eg. can't update an alias due to duplicates) the entire chore is rolled ba...

Re: RuleLoadFromFile & Chores
Disappointed. Not surprised, but certainly disappointed. No matter how i split it up, it refuses to load the rules file. Running them all in 1 TI, splitting them across the prolog / epilog, splitting in 2 TIs and running as a chore or chaining via another TI, they all fail. My only option has been t...

Re: RuleLoadFromFile & Chores
Interesting you should mention that. Completely different TIs but i have an ASCIIDELETE in the epilog of a TI that uses the ascii file as it's datasource. While i get no error messages, it doesn't delete the file either. I suspect that may be hanging on to the source in a similar way. Even though a ...

Re: RuleLoadFromFile & Chores
Already doing so - it's in a TI prolog that does nothing other than load the dummy rules file, and is the 1st thing to run in the chore. It's behaving like a single TI would - holding on to the original rules until the entire chore is completed.
