Re: TM1py 1.6

Slightly harsh, Jim. If we were talking about arc or pulse then fair enough, but tm1py seems to me to be the epitome of open source and non-commercial.

Re: Copy/Paste in PAfE - Excel Not Responding

I'm on 5.6 and it seems fine. I'd recommend going to 5.6 or above - up to 5.5 there were also issues with the VBA calls.

Re: Will IBM ever convert Perspectives to use the Rest API?

I've not used PAW enough to form an opinion (like Alan I'm an Arc aficionado), but the bits of PAW that make it to PafE and PafE itself are being welcomed with open arms in my user community. Benefits include (the perception) of faster speed, only having to use the local install Excel rather than a ...

Re: Copy/Paste in PAfE - Excel Not Responding

Hi Ajay,

I haven't used the Quebit tool, as we're on Cloud and last time I looked it wouldn't run on an automation user.

Re: Copy/Paste in PAfE - Excel Not Responding

If it's any consolation, we're just going through the same exercise, and 99 out 100 reports are OK - it tends to be the old and crufty ones that fall over in my experience. Having said that, you're correct they're not really the same animal - this is a useful bit from Qubit: https://blog.quebit.com/...

Does the user have a private default view? If so, this will take precedence.

Re: Clear sheet in PAFX

Hi Wim,

Try using Snapshot, Sheet instead. This will clear TM1, er, PAfE formulas and retain Excel only ones.

Re: Excel VBA, PAFX: make a cell static

This should work:

Code: Select all

Application.COMAddIns("CognosOffice12.Connect").Object.AutomationServer.Application("COR", "1.1").ClearSelection
with alerts turned off. If you're on any version earlier than .56 then the alerts won't turn off. .56 and above and they will.

Re: TM1ELLIST syntax to get alias

I raised a ticket and IBM support say it's a bug, and one they're not going to fix. I've figured out a workaround, but it's -ah- disappointing that IBM shipped it with this error. (Although, just to reiterate: the function works, it just won't return an alias against subset members.)

Re: TM1ELLIST syntax to get alias

PAX is 11.0.54.6, PAW is 2.0.53 and PA is 11.6, but I've tested it on PA 11.7 and I'm still just getting the base element back.

TM1ELLIST syntax to get alias

I'm have a senior moment trying to get this to work. I can get the array back, but I want to use a different alias. This just returns the base name, and I can't figure out why. =TM1ELLIST("JCG:COMPANY","Data Expected",,"Number and Name") where Number and Name is the ali...

Or you could write a TI with the same parameters as the Bedrock process you want to run, with an ExecuteProcess to the Bedrock TI.

TM1 Web doesn't support VBA - the documentation is reasonably clear about this.
