Re: Dimension Element Security - Most restrictive
There is a flag CELLSECURITYMOSTRESTRICTIVE in }CubeSecurityProperties. When CELLSECURITYMOSTRESTRICTIVE is yes, Element and Cell Security behave such that the most restrictive applies. For instance, if Element Security for a specific element is set to READ for a given Group and Cell Security for a ...

Re: DBRW not showing values until pressing enter in cells
After all testing, I found it is due to a subset was used in one of DBRW formulas in a sheet. As IBM decided not to support this, the report was actually partially refreshed. Only the parts before this referencing point was refreshed fine, not the ones after or including this specific sheet. This ch...

Re: PAW Dashboards Sluggish after upgrade to 2.0.59
Have you tried to build a new one from scratch which is the same as old one to see if it is still slow?
Is there any clue from the PAW log files?
Are you running PAW server on windows? If yes, anything special in the windows event viewer?

DBRW not showing values until pressing enter in cells
I have an existing slicing report with DBRW. Most of them are fine in PAfE v52 except for several cells which are always showing ”#value”. The formula is alright with right value in Perspectives. And in PAfE, it can show the right value until I press enter in the formula. Did I miss something and ne...

Re: JAVA Extension
Hi, Alan Yes, I totally understand. However, at least the Java extension works beautifully for me at the moment and I can't find other better way to replace it. Python is hot nowadays but who knows the future? Maybe golang becomes the next candidate when IBM releases the next generation of TM1 serve...

Re: What is the TM1 element member name maximum size limitation?
Interesting to know and thanks for the code. After testing, if wants the element to display properly in Architect, then nMax = 43679 is the limit. Otherwise, it will show empty element name with numeric icon at the first but definitely the element exists and is valid. In PAW, the limit goes above th...

However, the use of Java TI is discouraged in cases where it is not required. IBM supports only the version...

Re: Can't change from N to C in PA with hierarchy enabled?
Hi, mate Thanks. Yes, as long as the leaf is not used in other hierarchies other than the default and leaves hierarchies, it still can be converted from N to C automatically. I actually might find a bug while playing with this when using DIRECT version of dimension functions. i.e. DIMENSIONELEMENTIN...

Can't change from N to C in PA with hierarchy enabled?
Hi, so for a dimension with hierarchy enabled in PA, if I want to change 'N' element "XXX" to 'C' element by adding a child under that element in a hierarchy, it won't allow as it is a leaf in 'Leaves' hierarchy already. It pops with the following error, Insertion of element "XXX"...

Thanks for sharing the experience, both. Yes, you are right. Better to commit to PAfE only. I will select a group of key users to start testing and disable Perspectives by default after installing PAfE.

Re: Perspectives and PAfE Both Enabled in Excel
Hi, Ajay Thanks for the detailed info. The main reason I want to do this is that don't want to cause any inconvenience and panic to end users during this transition period when deploying although I will give out some training in advance. Yes, I did have some snapshotting or slicing issues from Persp...

Perspectives and PAfE Both Enabled in Excel
Hi, I am considering to keep TM1 Perspectives addin (from 2.0.8 install) and PAfE (v55) both enabled in Excel when we deploy to end users.
Is there any disadvantage for doing so or any problem you are aware when using any of them in Excel? Thanks.
