Re: Unable to connect to TM1 cube from different Cognos BI e
You need to check the settings in the Cognos Connection. Or would be nice if you can share the screenshots from the Cognos connection. More info on setting up TM1 Data sources on Cognos is explained here: http://www.packtpub.com/article/integrating-ibm-cognos-tm1-with-ibm-cognos-8-bi and http://publ...

Re: Element not seen by user but only buy admin
Security might be an issue. Have you checked the security of the new element created?
The other possibility is that the end user may be looking at a static subset and the new element is not part of the Subset. Has the user clicked on the ALL button in the Subset Editor?

Re: Record Count in TI process
You can also create some "Status" cubes which stores the information related to the number of Records Read, Skipped, Completion time etc. Sending results through emails would be one option but if you are using Cognos in your environment then in that case you can use Event Studio to send al...

Re: CreateCube from csv source, using TI
CreateCube(CubeName, d1, d2,....n) First of all the the correct function to create the cubes is CubeCreate() - not CreateCube which you have mentioned. Personally I think that creating cubes from the CSV might not be a good idea but yes you can create the cubes using a CSV files. You can have two c...

Re: Having different level of element display on different c
I thought about this to put all the the level into one attribute but user feels that there should be a proper way around to do it. The user uses powerplay before therefore already had an expectation that the new system that is put in should have identical feature as well. Once you have implemented ...

Re: Having different level of element display on different c
Another thing if you want to see the Level 3, Level 2 and Level 1 on separate columns in Excel then you can create 3 different attributes and use these attributes in the Active Form (or standard excel sheet) with DBRW() in it.

Re: Having different level of element display on different c
Winson, You can create an Attribute/Alias for the Dimension. This attribute will hold the Element names concatenated with the Parent names. Your Alias will look like: Level 3 Level 2 Level 1.1 Level 0.1 Level 3 Level 2 Level 1.1 Level 0.2 Level 3 Level 2 Level 1.1 Level 0.3 Then you can use this Ali...

Re: Error when saving a view in EViewer
This is a weird error.
Have you tried changing the Title Elements in your view? May be there is an element which is an invalid character for the EV Data source table.

Re: TM1 Toolbar name change
'TM1' name in the TM1 toolbar is set through the TM1 add-on which comes with TM1.
There is no built-in option in TM1 which allows you to change it.
You may be able to change it if you can hack into tm1pRibbonX.xlam file

In the Excel Options there is a setting for Move Selection After Enter. You can set its direction to Left, Right, Up and Down. In Excel 2003 this option is in the Edit tab.

Re: Slice to Excel
Do a complete uninstall.
Delete the C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Applix folder
Make sure you have installed all the per-requisites for TM1 (like .NEt framework etc)
Install TM1 again
These steps resolve most of the install issues.

Personally I think using Wizard is only for the newbies who just want to very basic stuff. Wizards are also good for the Prototyping but for the 'real-world' projects you need to be good in TI coding.

Re: Tm1 Server Monitoting
Yes tomok is right. If your TM1 server is down then you can not do anything in TM1 - you can not run a TI or do any other TM1 related task. You really need a 3rd party utility to do that. I am not sure but may be there is something in Event Studio (if you have Cognos in your environment) which allow...

I would advise you to merge these two into same dimension and treat one of th...
