Re: Assigning alias to subsets?
The issue will be that the list of subsets down in the data tree and in the set editor will show the principal/technical name. Users would want to see the friendly name when working in views/sets. At least that is how I understood the OP’s issue. Yes, two subsets would not be optimal for sure. We h...

Re: Assigning alias to subsets?
Yes I intended to have subset with two names (aliases). It is not so much for organizational purposes as for user friendliness. We use prefixes in our subsets to indicate for what purpose the subset exists and for which cube, so there are subsets named: OO_AC_Sales_All_Leaves, OO_AC_Sales_Lev2_SORT...

For what it is worth, I have seen this problem as well. Pain in the rear end, but no solution to offer.

Re: FP&A Business Knowledge for TM1
I see no one has taken a stab at this and there is no short way. Work in a small business accounting department and make friends with the CPA. You get to touch everything. If you have to prepare the books to be certified audit ready, even better. Next, take accounting courses if you have had no expo...

Re: Rule Erroring on Duplicative Dimension in DB Formula
Never saw a response on this regarding what the problem/solution was, but @flecky was correct on this it seems: the curly braces in the LHS addressing are telling the rule that elements from two dimensions are part of the same set. [{'Midstream Contracts':'No_Contract','Midstream Customer':'No_Custo...

Re: Background processing / queue (Not chores)
Really need more information to help with this. What objects are reported as locked? Where are your SYNCHRONIZED statements within the processes (i.e. are they at the very beginning, epilog before finishing)? TI B is executing subprocesses with no control, so is TI B finishing before it's child thr...

Re: MDX for Weeks in a Year using a Parameter for Year
Got it! Used the following: {TM1FilterByLevel(Descendants( [Time].[FY2022]) , 0)} And boom, tish! :D If the Weeks elements are children and only components of the fiscal year, then this will do it as well and may be a touch faster: [Time].[FY2022].children And in the TI: sMDX = EXPAND('[Time].[%pYe...

Re: Background processing / queue (Not chores)
We have gone down the path of testing with the users. What I see is things running in sequence with a number of processes in a wait state and then change to run in sequence. Everything appears to go ok. However what I see in the server log is the following message for each new case. It appears befo...

Re: Background processing / queue (Not chores)
[By the way, the argument for SYNCHRONIZED does not have to be an actual object in the model. I use virtually anything, for example, the names of University of Georgia football players, entertainers (see: The Three Stooges), battles from War Between the States (being from Georgia, these tend to fav...

Re: Background processing / queue (Not chores)
One thing that would be worth doing in your build is before (and maybe after) a job runs check for another occurence of the same job with the same parameters and clear it from the queue. Just to protect yourself from impatient users who sit there clicking the button becuase "nothings happening...

Re: Background processing / queue (Not chores)
I actually do have a solution that does this with a mix of Synchronized and a file semaphore to control users kicking off multiple executions of the same master process. The overall process runs processes that multi-thread in preparing and loading cubes and performing allocations. One group of threa...

Re: Alias includes double space, but picklist only has one
Hi, This won't help either but I vaguely remember a situation where element names had double dot at the end, so for example, Please Select.. or No Data Available.. and this double dot caused various issues with the data. Just can't exactly remember what those issues were! Not directly related to yo...

Re: Alias includes double space, but picklist only has one
Spaces are ignore by the TM1 server, so if an element was called "Lost in Space" or Lost in Space" both would be recorded by the system as LostinSpace. I guess when it's inserting the spaces back in it's treating all consecutive spaces as one space. I'm not aware of a method to preve...

Alias includes double space, but picklist only has one
I searched but not did not find this particular issue, so apologize for missing it if there is a thread on it. The problem: the data source for a dimension has a description used as an alias that includes a double space: (using '.' in lieu of a space). "Lost in..Space" instead of: "Lo...

Re: Parallel ODBC loads
No locking reported in the server log for these separate threads? One other thing not mentioned specifically above but we've seen is if the loading is applying a lot of feeders and those feeders apply other feeders, etc., will cause very slow commit times. On some processes, we remove the rules from...

Re: MDX views, testing cell value against a subset
Hi PavoGa, Not sure TM1TupleSize will work either because the dimension does not exist in the cube, therefore currentmember wont work. But please don't let that put you off trying to come up with a solution, as I would be very intrigued if this is possible. Maren I don't think that is necessary. Th...
