Re: Flexible PickList Definitions
This was touched on in some other threads recently. You can only point the picklist at a dimension, set or static list. Therefore if you have a complex need delivered by MDX then you must create a public set to deliver the list. You can not point a picklist directly at a MDX statement. If you have a...

Re: ViewZeroOut doesn't work
Super unlikely.... Most likely you have a C level in your view, you can only zero out N level data and it must be explicitly in your view / sets. Other reasons for confusion to arise. It's ruled data and therefore can't be zeroed out. Suggest you post your code and / or screen shot of view definition

Re: Saving and Reusing user settings
There is an RFE here
https://ibm-data-and-ai.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/PAOC-I-318
that would allow picklists to defined by MDX only without the need for a set in between, I see it's been marked as not for consideration but allegedly even a closed RFE can be reopened if it get's enough votes!

Re: Saving and Reusing user settings
SHowing the alias should be a property of the set not the picklist definition? i.e. Save the set with the alias set. I'm not aware of any bugs in current releases in this area

Re: Saving and Reusing user settings
Sounds like a good first step. You could have put your rule against the Picklist attribute rather than in the picklist cube. You only tend to need picklist cubes with much more complex logic against a data cube rather than the simple 2d list we are working with here. (i.e. it's the picklist cube you...

Re: RAM usage exploding with CubeUnload and ViewConstruct
If the method you have picked for keeping the cubes aligned is not working, have you considered other methods? A couple of methods, there are probably others.
If you have logging enabled you could consider replication.
Export and import of active periods
Cheers,

Re: Prerequisites and Challenges: PAW installation
any suggestions please we are in the middle of the decision-making to with PAW or stay with TM1 Web. Go RHEL for PAW. PAW is massively better than TM1Web, assuming you want to use dashboards of course. Much better dev and admin tools as well. You get to use Pafe too, baring in mind that Excel 365 a...

Re: Prerequisites and Challenges: PAW installation
Is there any way to monitor the excluded directory to see if any files/folders are modified for malicious activity? something like that? to prevent those excluded files/folders from safe. please suggest if these are feasible options. I think this is a virus scanner so you're getting circular now......

Re: Saving and Reusing user settings
Hi, This is the section of the help on picklists https://www.ibm.com/docs/ru/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=dimensions-creating-pick-lists It's normal (for me) to use a subset (https://www.ibm.com/docs/ru/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=types-subset-pick-lists) driven picklist. Normally the set that ...

Re: Saving and Reusing user settings
If you want to knit your reports / front ends together so that user selections follow the user around the sheets, environments and across sessions, do something like the following. 1. Build a Front End Selection cube, dimensioned by }Clients and "Selection" which contains the selection ref...

Re: Performance drop between 2.0.9.1 and 2.0.9.15
Just in case you've been misinformed somewhere, is there a reason you are going to 2.0.9.15? It's over a year old now, 2.0.9.18 is probably what you should be moving too. Around the 15 release there was a lot going wrt to ODBC that may have impacted other areas. Given that it's fairly trivial to fli...

Re: Office 2019 Update breaking Pafe
I think the .Net update KB5031904 is not related as I've just been working with a customer who had not had that update but was experiencing the issue.
So, as you say, perhaps an issue with an Office update that has since rolled back.

Re: Office 2019 Update breaking Pafe
Just to follow up on this. We experienced this across multiple customers and internally across various versions, no real pattern. We think, but cannot prove that the issue was triggered by this automatic update, the timing of the update matches for those impacted. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb...

Office 2019 Update breaking Pafe
Hi,
We've seen internally and at a customer the last Office 2019 update breaking Pafe (i.e. ribbon not loading).
Deleting the Office Connection folder and reinstalling the .xll didn't work.
Reinstalling Excel resolved the issue.
Anyone else seeing this issue and have a better fix?

Great thanks, excellent!
Scratch that, frustratingly that switch doesn't appear to work with the carbon viewer that is the default in Pafe 2.0.90

Slice from Cube Viewer should goto a new book
Fairly simple one.
Currently a slice from the cube viewer in Pafe goes to the active book.
Request to be able to configure it so that it slices to a new book or have the full range of options that are available off the task bar.

Re: Inconsistent top/bottom filter in PAW
What you may find is that it is including zeros in the top count and then suppressing them.
i.e. if you have 10,5,0,0,0,-5,-10
You will only get two numbers in a suppressed top / bottom 5.
If you have a low record count you are better off sorting the list then using top / bottom

Re: Memory usage gradually increased to maximum (64 GB) after restarting the tm1 service
You should be clear about what RAM is increasing. If the server is maxing out are you sure the TM1 DB is the cause? Can you see what is using this RAM? I ask this because I recently had an issue at a two different clients where the RAM on the box was maxing out but not visible vs anything in task ma...

Re: Copy Data Between cubes; Failing due to consolidated members
I think this is the second use case that I outlined. You need to set your export up to use the C level of Period Month Main (the YTDS) and in order to get them to appear in the query you will need to uncheck the Exclude Consolidations in View check box (or use the equivalent TI command). The both th...
