Re: Prop. Spread on calculated C-Element
I don't think proportional spread against a calculated C level element will work, even when the Ns below it are open. In theory there is nothing to stop the engine doing the work, perhaps worth raising with IBM to see if they thinks its a bug but this I would expect to raise an enhancement request f...

Re: Pafe should always display what is in the cube when doing a retrieve.
Hi, this RFE has been marked as Not Under Consideration. However the door is slightly open in that if the vote count goes up then it might be reconsidered. Can I ask anyone that feels that the loss of error responses in the DBRW and other reports types is an issue to vote for the RFE please? Cheers,

Also, and not to be "that guy", but Perspectives is not supported on O365....

Re: MDX view dimension order when used as a source to a TI
All well and good if you can dictate the format of the query. If you can control the way the query is constructed then you can control the order of the variables. But what if the content of the MDX statement is unknown and could be anything? How do you deal with that? That's the problem. I can see ...

Re: MDX view dimension order when used as a source to a TI
Your use case must be rather different from mine, I'm not having issues reaching a stable soluton. I build my views using this form. sMDXToUse='SELECT {%sMDX5%} ON 0, %sFilterHead% NONEMPTY( CROSSJOIN(%sMDX1%, CROSSJOIN(%sMDX2%, CROSSJOIN(%sMDX3%, %sMDX4%))), {%sMDX5%} %sFIlterEnd% ) ON 1 FROM [Plan...

MDX view dimension order when used as a source to a TI
Hi, This issue has been fixed since 2.0.9.10. https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/PH24729 and https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6489261 If you had a stable solution prior to 2.0.9.10 and upgrade to 2.0.9.10 or higher then you will probably need to make changes to any TIs that use MDX views a...

Re: Using Expand Function to make Variable Dynamic in TI
I think you are asking about how to collect the row headers so that you can use them as measure values to write the data to cube. The problem with expand is that you can only use it on the right hand side and so it is "only" useful for reading variable values. If we had something like it o...

Re: rule line error runtime error :circular reference, evaluation stack
wrt to a circular reference one thing that isn't always obvious until it happens to you the first time is that you need to consider rules and consolidations in the dimension together. To illustrate this with a silly example. Say your period dimension has Jan rolling into Year. and you write a rule [...

Re: TM1RPTROW issue
Hi, Its pretty challenging to debug MDX without the system in front of you. I'd suggest the following. 1. Set up a distinct cell that holds the Excel formula that is delivering the MDX statement. i.e. This piece ="{FILTER({FILTER({FILTER({TM1FILTERBYLEVEL({TM1DRILLDOWNMEMBER({[OUTLETS].["&...

Re: TM1 right question
Looks like you are trying to do a spread, i.e. data entry at the C level. Judging from the error message the user doesn't have write access at the C level intersections in the view. So I'd say recheck the security model but make sure you consider that they need WRITE access at the C level to do so. ...

Re: Cases where MDX is a better alternative to cube rules
I'll play devil’s advocate in the interest of keeping the debate going! No criticism intended! My use case for MDX views, wouldn’t be for calculations but using picklists to deliver advanced filtering of records / cells and PAW wide synchronisation across user sessions. Picklists are a great way of ...

Re: TM1 PAW - Exploration view - Insert calcul on 2 dimensions
If you have a calculated measure of sufficent complexity that you need to make a MDX view, wouldn't you write a ruled measure or consolidation instead? Put aside the relative complexity of a rule versus MDX and the level of rights you need to on the DB to undetake this activity. I'm genuinely intere...

Re: rule save time wait problem
Quick and dirty for testing new rules etc could be to remove nearly all the data, except that which you need to proove out rule changes. Depends if are you trying to solve "I need to get these rules written and tested" or "How to improve the compile time of the rules" As others h...

Is the Show / Hide Overview getting pressed / set at some point during this?
This looks like a downward pointing ">" , you'll need to have the exploration widget selected to see it. Pressing it should show the view headers again.

Re: wrong number in the view with architect
Hi, as you say this looks very odd... From the cube view it looks that there is no rule applying and that you have write access. Do you know if the rules for the cube have been changed recently? Could you post the rule sheet here? I'd guess that it was a database side issue so what version is runnin...
