Re: Connection options to SAP
I have connected driectly in the past with other tools. Regardless of what SAP think, the main issue is that all the table names are in German. And when you generate an Excel report, the module names come out in German as well. It was somewhat disorienting to see the ThisWorkbook object come out as...

Re: VBA Code to double click
Hi Alan I think that in this case the reluctance is more to do with the move to Unicode; go forward, and there's no going back since the database files are no longer backward-compatible. Also my understanding is that the Unicode format will be more demanding on system resources, so it's best not to...

Enforced Password Changes
I just got a request from the higher ups. I notice in TM1 there is no requirement for Password change after a required period ? Is that possible to set up in TM1. It is normal practice in the Network systems Hmmm. How do I diplomatically respond "Hey, yeah, we've been asking for that for years ...

If you really need this functionality (and I can see why you would) then I would recommend upgrading to 9.4 for Active Forms. I haven't used 9.4 in anger but so far I haven't noticed that it is any less stable than 9.1. Unfortunately many people prefer to wait until at least the first Service Pack ...

Not that anyone cares, but is the Cognos site down? I tried logging in today and over the weekend and got nothing. I suppose it is another win for OLAP Forums, at least the site is never down. Oh gods, don't jinx us by saying that... However CC seems to be up now, for certain values of up. Which is...

Mr Kirk stole a Klingon bord of pray, flew round the sun, landed in Illinois and created some TM1 junk filters before flying round the sun again back to OZ. A "bord of pray"? I thought that was Sarah Palin's education policy. Oh wait, wrong thread. Now if I could get my hands on a B...
Re: Junk mail
I've just had some junk mail from BS Partners (that’s Bright Star not any other amusing BS acronyms, I can think of two that could be appropriate) an Illinois based cognos consultancy. Anyone else had a mail from them? Just wondering where they got my address from and if Im just lucky! Illinois, ...

Re: Dimension Worksheet Function
Maybe I should ask a different question. What is the best way to audit your DIM so you can clean out the garbage DIMs you are no longer using? I was going to exract a list and then bounce each one off every cube. I don't know if this is the BEST way (indeed it probably isn't), but this is a little ...

Re: Dimension Worksheet Function
Hi Eric, In the old TM1 recommended practices look up "Documenting_Dimension_Usage_by_Cube" - both TI and rules approaches are explained. To improve on things a little I would recommend rather than using the control dims in the audit cube creating a replica of }Cubes and }Dimensions with ...

Re: Trigger for Control Objects to Update
Here is the situation. I placed holds on a cube that did not have any holds before. As you all know this creates a new cube }Hold_User_Cube. I wanted to see how much memory the holds were requiring. So I went into }StatsbyCube to take a look, but the element }Hold_User_Cube did not exist. I disconn...

Re: Re-Customising (Customizing) Web after an Upgrade
Yesterday afternoon I installed 9.1 SP4 (replacing 9.1 SP3) as our web server. (Interestingly, for reasons best known to itself, Iboglix still hasn't put SP4 on the downloads page; you can still only get it from the FTP server.) I take it back; it wasn't there yesterday (I had to pull it from the F...

Paul, I think you're thinking of an element name rather than a dimension name.Paul Segal wrote:=DIMNM(Dimension, Index, Alias) will return the company name.
