Re: FORUM OUTAGE - Updating PHP and phpBB version

Forum and PHP version now updated. Seemed to go smoothly. Only potential conflict is with the email notifications so let me know if you see any problems.

Re: FORUM OUTAGE - Updating PHP and phpBB version

Sorry, I didn't get to it last week. My four month old baby hasn't co-operated with my plans. I'll probably have another crack next week. Again, I'll post on Facebook/Twitter when I start so if the forum's down check there to check if I've started.

FORUM OUTAGE - Updating PHP and phpBB version

I'm going to update the PHP version and the phpBB version too in the next few days, evening time in New Zealand (about 7 or 8am GMT). It shouldn't take too long but keep an eye on the Facebook or Twitter feeds if it's down for more than ten minutes. I'll post on there when I start and finish and pos...

Memory errors

I've had two reports of memory errors from admins today. I'd like to get a handle on how big the problem is because I've used up all the easy fix options and they only seemed to have reduced the problem, not fixed it. Next stop is upgrading the PHP version and/or changing server providers. I'm happy...

Re: Ruling values between dimension elements

Marc, great to see someone paying attention to the guidelines for making postings. It makes it much easier to provide meaningful replies when the question is well put. A few key points to help you on your way: Feeders don't move the data, they just flag which cells need to be calculated with a rule....

Re: IBM training exams

It's been covered a few times. Search for "exams" in the search box at the top right. The consensus is that the exams aren't particularly onerous on those who know TM1. We've previously discouraged offering too much help in the way of preparation for these exams on the forum. The reason is...

Re: VM Scheduled Maintenance

The hardware node where your VPS is hosted on is scheduled to have a disk upgrade between: Start time: 13/09/2013 00:00 NZST End time: 13/09/2013 05:00 NZST This will allow for better performance and quicker file system checks in the event of an emergency reboot. This should not cause any issues to...

Re: Averages for Consolidations

I've refined my approach somewhat over the 5 years (5 years!!!!) since I wrote this post and have a fourth method that's a hybird of method 1 and 2. It's a bit more complex, but it allows for handling multiple averages in a cube fairly cleanly. Method 4: Numerator/Denominator This method allows flex...

Re: ROUNDUP Function in TM1 Rules

I usually just add 0.49999 and then round it. That will ensure a figure is always rounded up. It appears less precise, but I've never seen it not work. It's also slightly faster than an IF statement. ['x'] = round(['y'] - ['z'] + 0.49999); NB the reason it's 0.49999 and not 0.5 is because if you add...

Re: In a global context, how does TM1 compare to...

but am curious to know if anything has changed with all the latest upgrades. TM1 (and no doubt the other tools) continues to evolve but the underlying architecture and points of difference with other tools remain more or less the same in my view. Though to be honest I don't keep much track of the o...

Re: Multiple folders using parameter Databasedirectory

Sorry, no answers to your questions as I've never used this ability. I guess that if there was a limit, it would merely be a maximum of 256 characters. I would guess 1,2,4 would all be "no". I was just curious to know, however, why you're doing it this way? I can't see any benefit in havin...

Re: ExecuteProcess with too few parameters supplied

What does it do with the parameters not specified? If it uses the Default values specified when building the TI process then I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. It makes the variables optional, like in VBA where you don't have to supply things if you just want the defaults to apply. However ...

yes, in my case the two cubes have a different number of dimensions. so ... you meaning , the way is not work ? Yep, that's my meaning. You cannot do what you want to do this way. I think you'll have to create two separate reports, one for cube A and one for cube B. i try to save data on excel hsee...

Re: Cognos Express on windows server 2012

Not Cognos Express, but I've installed vanilla TM1 10.1 on Server 2012 without any problems. It should work, but if you have any problems then you won't be supported by IBM.

Re: Revert Back the Changes in cube

I don't think the answer to this one can found in the manual, at least not directly, so... Use two Scenarios - "Base" and "Adjustments", plus a consolidated element called "Base + Adjustments" that sums the two. Then the user could report any of those three scenarios. T...

Re: Help with bedrock's dim.clone.fromsubset

Ditto to the request for the full code but from your description of the problem I would hazard a guess that you have a counter that isn't incrementing correctly, or perhaps you're using the wrong counter in the wrong place.

Re: can i use IF statment on DBRW excel formula

You can use IF's on DBRWs only if you want read only information. If you want to type the value over the DBRW formula and send it back to TM1 then it will not work. This is because of how the Cellupdate event is handled in VBA. The precedent cells (e.g. cell $M$9) can have IF formulas in them, which...
