Re: Insert N-Element between consolidations, not at the lower end

OK, so I have to prepare the elements to be named according to a sorting method ByName afterwards, or accept it as is (as I want to avoid manual development via Excel).
Thank you very much, Tom.

Insert N-Element between consolidations, not at the lower end

I struggle actually with a challenge, which seemed to be easy, but isn't (just for me, hopefully...) I have a cube which I want to divide into distributed subcubes. This is my dimension used to control, what chunks will be created: Mastercube.png I want to derive a summary cube, which collects the A...

Re: External access to TM1 cube via MDX

Ah, I see: I always thought of the Datasource type ODBO as a connector made only for pulling data from MS SSAS Cubes (if I remember right, it was also called somehow like that before 10.2). But if this works also for retrieving data out of TM1 cubes into external databases, this would fit best for m...

Re: External access to TM1 cube via MDX

ODBC? Does this mean that the driver internally retrieves data via MDX and delivers the resultset flattened to the ODBC-destination? Like a .csv-export, but on the fly? That could be sufficient... I aim to do 2 things: 1) Load top-down-targets into TM1 and later offload the created budgets back to t...

External access to TM1 cube via MDX

Did I search so inadequate, or is there really no post about this question? I wonder if it is possible somehow to access to my TM1 cubes from outside TM1 (say Tableau, or Microsoft SSIS...). In Cognos BI, I could integrate a TM1 cube into the Framework Manager and deploy it to Cognos Connection. The...

Did Cubewise rename Vizier somehow?
All products listet on http://www.cubewise.com sound good also, but don't give me an idea if Vizier could be incorporated into them...
Did rise up some new insights about this legendary (but seemingly un-buyable...) tool, meanwhile?

Re: Default Admin user handling productive

...AFAIK, it does not count as a user license since it is not a "person" in your installation unless, of course, you use it to log in to TM1 and do things. ... That's the main point for us, as I don't want somebody do something with admin, but instead only with one's named admin user. But...

Default Admin user handling productive

I wondered what might be the best practice to deal with the admin user in place from first creation of a TM1 server. I'd like to disable it (or at least take it out from ADMIN group) as I defined named users being admin now. But switch off the checkbox for the ADMIN group isn't allowed, as I observe...

Could the SubsetElements argument be a list of elements that is not consecutive, e.g. "El1, El4, El7, El10" from a subset consisting of El1..El10 ?

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24 (TM1 SSL Certificates Expire on 24 November)

Just for the logs (solved for me): Recently we changed the SSL certificates and mostly it still works. Just a login to one particular server wasn't possible anymore, (only remote! locally it worked). Nothing changed except the ssl-stuff. Idea from IBM helpdesk: The IPaddress="..."-entry in...

.pro file format documented somewhere?

Does somebody ever found a documentation about the structure of the TI .pro - files? If I would like to edit them outside TI (in an editor), I guess I quickly would misinterprete some of these numbers (linenumering...?) and it might not run anymore. Near to the top there appears a line seeming encry...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24 (TM1 SSL Certificates Expire on 24 November)

Just for the files, assuming not everybody found it: Checking the effective SSL version when using 10.2.x AND Cognos Configuration doesn't start. Open .\tm1_64\configuration\cogstartup.xml and search for this tag ( tm1AdminSvrCertificateVersion ): <!-- tm1AdminSvrCertificateVersion: Gibt an, welche ...

a utility which reverse engineers the TI statements I guess, this is nothing out of the open source community somewhere? Re: Security Admin and Data Admin -> need Administrator license?

I though like this too. But when the function to run a process just needs a read user and processes operate on admins account, it might be OK. The pity is that IBM doesn't state somewhere clearly what's needed really. Cognos had a list of capabilities and somewhere I remember a list of needed licens...

Re: TM1 Licensing Clarification

Now we did some investigation how IBM wants us to make sure not to be underlicensed. The "big guys" use Tivoli for this, the poor man "purchases" ILMT at 0.00 EUR. No download without a passport adv account as IBM offers support for this tool. And this is important in cases it do...

Security Admin and Data Admin -> need Administrator license?

I wondered if the sub-admin roles are intended to make some powerusers able to perform some minor tasks like pressing a TI-button or grant access to new employees? Or are these roles intended to be kept into the administrators circle but dividing the responsibilities when having more than 1 admin-em...
