Re: need help in writing feeders for rules for string elements
Hi makok, In your destination cube it should be straight forward to feed the value since you can use Weighted Average Balance since this is what the value is driven by. You will need to put FeedStrings; as the first or second line of your rules (can't remember if it comes before or after skipcheck)....

Re: Dimension question
A slightly different take on this since it sounds like the cubes are already built and populated. If you take the appraoch suggested then your going to have to rebuild all the cubes. Against your master dimension have an attribute to say which cost centres relate to which business area. Then have a ...

Re: TM1 Certifcation questions!!urgent!!
We won't be posting the questions and answers to the certification on this forum ever! I hope that no one PMs you any information too. The certification exists for a reason and shouldn't just be treated as a tick in the box. There is a thread that discusses the value of the certification and the qua...

Re: 11-108922781 - TM1 9.4 MR1 TI Memory Leakage
That's still a strange way to implement rollback though, surely? 1. Rollback requires logging in some form. 2. If logging is turned on we can use the file to rollback. 3. If logging is turned off then we can either, a)Turn logging on in the background, b)Develop some entirely new functionality to ho...

Re: Ranking Data
Hi Ajay, Note that though the filter is dynamic when the data changes it isnt if the selection changes. If you set the view up so that the filter is running off October Sales and then load November sales and change the view to reference November the filter will not update. You would need to rewrite ...

Re: 11-108922781 - TM1 9.4 MR1 TI Memory Leakage
@lotsaram, I hadn't heard about this, though I've not been studying the release notes. You've really got to question the priorities and well intelligence of who decides what get's built in the TM1 dev team. Head Designer : Well we seem to have a problem in 9.4, the memory requirements are ramping up...

Re: Google Wave invite
All, just a small note of warning on google wave. I think that once I added the chrome IE plug in and activeX, a firepass connection I was using for work stopped working. I can't prove it 100% but once I had disabled the plug ins and activeX my firepass connection became stable again. It's been a ro...

Re: Passing Data field name as Parameter in TI
The best I can suggest is to use an if statement If (pMonth@='Jan'); valueToLoad=col1; ElseIf (pMonth@='Feb'); valueToLoad=col2; etc Else (pMonth@='Dec'); valueToLoad=col12; End; CellPutN (valueToLoad, Cube ,etc); I don't there is way to say use a parameter to declare a column as the one you interes...

Re: tm1msg.log error in 9.0 SP3
But... I'm guessing that the Sandhya is on 64 bit (otherwise why have 16GB of RAM) In 64bit Windows OS (again an assumption) there is no upper limit to the size of the server in the same way that there is in the 32 bit world. So a 64 bit server should not crash with this message assuming you are run...

Re: TM1 server locked, notify users?
I don't think so , it's purely for the Object Duplicate issue where the clinet and server lose contact with each other.

Re: TM1 server locked, notify users?
The last case whilst a horrid bug that's impossible to track down can be partially resolved by using this parameter in the config file ReceiveProgressResponseTimeoutSecs=20 The "Object Duplicate" error basically means that the server and client have forgoten where each other are. With this...

Re: Dimension Order
Correct, so if you are working in 32-bit world and you are working on the main cube, then there is a good chance to crash your server due to the memory limits.
Once you accept the changes though you only have the one cube again.
64-bit shouldn't be an issue though

Re: TI Process Error Warnings
Dave It's saying that 112771 is not in the Original Suppliers dimension so TM1 cannot reference the cube or dimension correctly on line 9. It's normal to process a data file once through the meta data and update dimensions as required and then process the data into the cube on the data tab. (Side po...

Re: DatasourceCubeView question
Hi Elton, 99.99% of the time this is because the view is not providing any results so the data tab never gets executed. Check that your view generates results manually in server explorer and then double check that the settings of the ignore conslidations or ignore rules are what you intended. A clas...

Re: Rule - count
Dave, You'll need to post your rules for us to help plus details of the cube and the dimension sizes. It's normal for the introduction of rules and feeders to slow things down. If you have the scope of the rule too wide then this can be dramtic. From what you say you may be better off calculating th...

Re: Attribute Dimensions
Short of a magic wand (aka Triggers) I can't see that this is possible. I think what you are asking for is, a user changes the value of an attribute to one that has not been used before, this new attribute should then automagically be created as an element in another dimension. The only way to do th...

Re: "On Event" chores
I'd certainly add my vote to this, it would greatly expand the functionality available to the developer. It would certainly make all the VBA I have to write to build budgetting tools much lighter. I have definitely heard triggers mentioned at a TM1 Roadmap presentation in the UK, probably 2 years ag...

Re: TM1
My best guess at what the question means is We don't want more than one user changing a version (Actual / Budget / Forecast) at a time. How can we make this happen? If so the answer would be to grant the user reserve rights to the version so that they can lock other users out. Or it's something tota...

Re: Data Transfer based on Lookup cube and Attribute Value
Hi David, I think maybe something like this is what you mean? ['Base']=N: #If we are at an intersection where the G&A attribute and the Overhead pool attribute match the element names for those dimensions If ( DB('Org to Pool',attrs('Employees',!Employees,'Org'),'G&A'))@=!G&A_Pools &...
