Re: Copy/Paste into web cube view
Well unfortunately, it doesn't look like the shortcuts work either (at least in 9.4.1). I looked at the code in scripts/tm1cubeviewermain.js and I could find no routines for dealing with copy/paste unlike in tm1webbook.js which has rountines. There do appear to be routines for shift-key movement (i....

Copy/Paste into web cube view
Am I (and everyone else trying to use TM1 in my organization) going nuts, or can you really not copy/paste into cube views over the web? Right clicking in a web cube view only shows "Data Spread and Holds". No copy or paste. Same results in IE and Firefox. Is this behavior normal? Thanks, ...

Re: Active Form Performance / Optimization
Well, low and behold, today everything is much snappier in both Excel and IE. I don't know whether to be thankful things have started to work or to be ticked off that I spent so many hours yesterday chasing this issue. The TM1 service is automatically restarted over night so maybe that did something...

Active Form Performance / Optimization
I'm running into fairly major performance issues using ActiveForms. By major, I mean: 1) ActiveSheet -> Rebuild Current Book (in Excel) takes 80 seconds. (run locally on tm1 server) Rebuild Active Forms (in Web) takes 20 seconds. 2) Cell navigation/entry in the web with IE6/7 is painfully slow but F...

Ah, thanks Alan. Beats a string of if statements for sure. Pardon the pun.

Re: While statements in TI process
So this neat for right padding, but does anyone have any tricks for easily left-padding a string of varying initial length?
Example 8 character fixed: '123' to '00000123' and '1234' to '00001234'

Link for showing logged in users?
Someone had written a TM1 Excel "dashboard" which shows logged in users as red/green indicator lights.
I'm come across it before but I can't find it after 15 minutes of googling. (edit: make that 1.5 hours of googling...)
Thanks,
-- John

Re: TM1web : Does it have a limit for rows of DBRW?
Herman, We've seen similar poor performance when rows are numerous in a websheet. Our work around has been to create a process action that reads in a template file that the user uploads to a network share. Can you clarify your "solution"? When you say an account wasn't working, what do you...

Re: Dimension Copier?
Wim, Thanks for sharing your dimension copier code. For some reason, I ran into problems with it under 9.4.1 HF16. In the Epilog tab, I had to change two lines: FROM: vAttributeType=SUBST(DTYPE(pDimensionOld, vAttributeName),2,1); TO: vAttributeType=SUBST(DTYPE('}ElementAttributes_'|pDimensionOld, v...

Was hoping you were going to tell us.
I heard mid January from IBM support.
Sure hope they fix the Excel installation errors during install.

Re: Hierarchy Updates / Mgmt
Jim, thank you for sharing. I'm sure I'll be able to leverage your code. I'll have to add in a way to preserve attributes on consolidated/leaf members that aren't part of the dimension load probably by creating a backup of the dimension first, running your steps, and the reestablishing the attribute...

Re: startup hang after }StatsForServer
Thanks for info guys... I did more testing and it is definitely is group related. It's disappointing that the security overhead on startup seems so disportionate to the cube load times. I'm wondering if cube design factors like overfeeding play a big role in driving security setup time. I also think...

Re: Hyperthreading...
John, I'm baffled as to why you would expect any other result. Umm, would have thought that was pretty apparent... I wasn't up to speed (so to speak) on hyperthreading which is why I asked the question in the first place. So, going back to my original question, in your experience, is there any reas...

Re: Hyperthreading...
Okay, did some testing today, and here are the disappointing results (depending on how you look at them): TM1 instance startup time with 16 virtual threads: 36 minutes (7% static CPU utilization) TM1 instance startup time with 8 cores (HT disabled): 36 minutes (13% static CPU utilization) So not a d...

Hierarchy Updates / Mgmt
Could anyone share or point me to some TI examples for managing hierarchy updates? My hierarchy import file is in the format of: Child Parent Weight ChildAlias I imagine the logic is something like this: (1) if child or parent doesn't exist, create and associate (2) if they exist, but aren't current...

startup hang after }StatsForServer
Over the last couple days, our tm1 instance has gone from a 10 minute startup to a 40 minute startup. Much development has been done in that period so unfortunately I can't point to a single change. Performance once it starts up doesn't seem to have changed. It still takes only 10 minutes to run thr...

Re: Hyperthreading...
Ah now I get your point. Our development server is 4-cpu box with all being dual core so we end up with 8 virtual cores. TM1 just uses one of the threads but when multiple queries are running it does use all 8 threads, Jim. So it begs the question, if your multiple quieres didn't exceed 3 concurren...

TM1 /Cognos Access Manager Authentication Questions
I've basically gotten TM1/CAM AD authentication (IntegratedSeecurityMode=4) working but I'd like to optimize and have the following questions: 1) Can the client name alias (as stored in }TM1_DefaultDisplayValue) be autopopulated with the user's full name (or some other cn)? When selecting users duri...

Fitting of Data Based on Reference Curve
Here's a challenge I've been struggling with for a while now... In a nutshell, it is a fitting exercise involving two constraints and a reference curve. The reference curve is the prior year actuals of product sales by location. The constraints relate to establishing next year's budget which are dic...
