Re: Insight 2015

Hi Jim:

I didn't realize you had to be at the booth both days - that's rough! If you need rescuing or especially refreshments (we'll have cotton candy at the QueBIT booth) let me know. I'll be happy to "buy" you a beer during one of the expo receptions.

Mike

Re: TM1 SDK JavaExtensions ( Any early adopters )

In general, because you have access to nearly all TI functions in Java Extensions you should not need to access other TM1 APIs, whether it be the TM1 Java API or new REST API, from Java Extensions. Java Extensions are still quite powerful, but I don't think are meant to replace TI process writing a...

Re: TM1 SDK JavaExtensions ( Any early adopters )

Hi Uchow10: First, I don't think the description of Java Extensions on the IBM DeveloperWorks site is accurate: "Most TurboIntegrator functions are supported in Java and can be used like any other Java method. You can create TurboIntegrator processes with Java and use Java’s libraries to furthe...

Re: Automation of Currency data from the open source into TM

As Macsir says there is likely some programming involved here - the data you're looking for can likely be extracted from the web pages you're currently using or through other web services that provide this data. Some examples here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4873873/realtime-currency-webserv...

I've asked this a few times at the Vision conference and the consistent answer is that CAFE is currently not included with Cognos Express.

Re: C/C++ API Function Question

Hi Firefly007: No, I don't know of an alternative. As I said below, this function has been around since 2000, but has never been officially documented by Applix, Cognos and now IBM. Why they haven't documented it is beyond me, but you should be able to use it to disconnect all clients (one at a time...

Re: Mdx expression with comment (really ?)

Hi Laurent: I don't think IBM officially says anywhere in their MDX support documentation that they officially support the available commenting options in the MDX language , but based on what you've found it looks like they might support at least the "--" style commenting (at least in 10.2...

Re: IOD conference 2013

Hi Rduggs: I'll be at the conference (arriving very late Sunday), likely spending most of my time at the QueBIT booth. It would be great to meet any other forumers (consultants, users, or IBM'ers) that are at the conference, so please feel free to stop by and say hello. Don't be offended if I don't ...

Re: Cognos Express 10.2.1 coming out today

Hi James: But some deprecated features that maybe an issue for you: • No Advisor and Data Advisor One point of clarification - Advisor and Data Advisor is not gone (yet) - CX 10.2.1 is, however, the last release where it will be available . Only the following items are totally gone in CX 10.2.1: TM1...

Hi JDLove: Sorry to come to this topic a bit late. We'll contact you offline to assist further - it could be things like licensing, TM1 SSL settings or something similar preventing TM1 Servers from being seen via OLAPObjects and the TM1 API.

Re: Problem with running local server (models)

Hi All: Sorry to jump in a little late to the party, but I thought I'd share some of what we'd found out about the local server option (Start Local Server from Perspectives/Architect Server Explorer) in 10.1.x. IBM's suggestion that you just run the 32-bit client install doesn't actually work, by it...

Re: C/C++ API Function Question

Hi George: I had to ask for this originally - not sure why it's not been documented since I asked back in 2000. This is an old VBA/VB6 declaration, which shouldn't be too hard to rework for C/C++: Declare Function TM1ClientDisconnect Lib "tm1api.dll" (ByVal hPool As Long, ByVal hServer As ...

Re: Help for API fuction TM1CubeCellValueGet

Hi: First, if you're doing this from VBA then why go to the trouble of using TM1CubeCellValueGet? Just call TM1's DBR function as noted below as it is much safer and easier in VBA - you're reinventing the wheel if you use TM1CubeCellValueGet from VBA. If this is not in VBA where you must use TM1Cube...

Re: TM1 TOP API results in excel

Hi TM1Bug: First, I'm going to warn you that retrieving TM1TOP statistics repeatedly in a loop without pause is probably not a good idea, especially using Excel and Excel VBA to do so. TM1TOP information isn't ever really "real-time", as was discussed in this thread ; at best you'd just be...

Re: How can I run TM1 ver 2.5 on Windows 7???

Hi All: Agreed with other commenters on the only possibility of running Perspectives 2.5 with Windows 7 being through VMs, and even that's not ideal given the age of that release. Perspectives 2.5 and Server 6.0 were the first releases I started using back in 1997 (both Rev D, I think). What a blast...
