Re: 9.5.1 and Excel 2010

I am running 9.5.1 client on win 7 Excel 2010 combination with no issues (EV is another matter due to .Net conflicts but TM1 server and client in this environment haven't caused any problems.)

A more current link to this product can be found at viziersoftware.com

It's more than a little tool these days.

(I do have an association with the company.)

Check that TM1ExcelService.exe is running.
Also look at the tm1 web logs.

Re: creating cubes in excel?

Not sure I understand the question either as what exactly is meant by "creating cubes in Excel"? With administrator privileges this can be done quite easily in Perspectives server explorer (the TM1 add-in for Excel). Just right-click "cubes" and select "create new cube"...

Re: asciioutput not working

The preview window for a view data source is not indicative of data in the view as the preview does not respect the view (it cheats and merely pulls the intersection from element index 1 of each dimension.) Probably either the view does not contain data or if the values are rule populated they are n...

Re: TM1RPTROW - MDXStatement length limit?

The string character limit is an Excel 2003 limitation NOT TM1 9.4.1 Complex MDX expressions to define TM1RptRow work just fine but you have to use Excel 2007 or 2010 (Excel 2010 isn't officially supported but so far in my testing with TM1 9.5.1 it seems to work just fine.) If you have a cube with a...

Re: DifferentTimes between server and TM1

There isn't much to it just change log4j.appender.S1.TimeZone=GMT to log4j.appender.S1.TimeZone=Local The tm1s-log1.properties file needs to be in the same location as the tm1s.cfg file, so more than likely the data directory. Changing the log mode and file size options have immediate effect but cha...

Re: DifferentTimes between server and TM1

By default TM1 logs everything in GMT. It is a little known fact that this doesn't have to be the case. Just edit the tm1s-log.properties file in notepad and change the time stamp property from "GMT" to "Local" and restart the server and TM1 will then log in local server time. (H...

Re: Excel 2007 and rows calculated

In 9.4 and XL 2007 the row limitation still exists. I'm not sure if it has been addressed in 9.5, I haven't tested it and quite frankly I have no interest in doing so. Other than "compliance" with Excel's new 10^6 row limit I can see no practical benefit whatsoever to upgrading the current...

Re: Element Name is the same as another elements description

I have noticed this before. I think this loophole/bug/feature exists because XDI sheets pre-date the existence of element attributes or aliases and the Excel 4 macro code has (probably) never been updated. If yo have created element principal / alias duplicated you do need to fix this, otherwise you...

Re: Security Write Access -Blocked

I think vinnusea was referring to the fact that for application folders and blob files the security privilege settings to select from are only None, Read and Admin for all non-Admin groups as opposed to the fact that the Admin security groups are non-editable. The answer is pretty much the same thou...

Re: TM1 cube lock concurrency

All write locking in TM1 prior to 9.1 is at server level. Write locking in 9.1 - 9.5.1 is object level. An "object" for the purposes of locking is pretty much anything that ends up as a discrete file in the data directory when saved to disk. The current write lock is therefore cube level n...

I think on point 3 you mean "do not feed with calculated elements as your target ". Feeding from a consolidation shouldn't make a great deal of difference and is often necessary, especially for Detail -> Summary cubes. Feeding to a consolidation means that you're effectively feeding every...

Re: Problem on inter-cube feeders

How big are your 23 dimensions that you have to feed to a top consolidation? There is a limit to how many cells a single numeric cell can feed, in which case the feeders will fail silently (except for errors in the server log at load). This could well be your problem - check the server message log. ...

Not much time just now so very quickly:

All rows of an active form contain the same formulas as formulas are copied down from using the first row of the active form as a formula template. Active forms can contain differential formats by row but cannot contain different formulas between rows.

Re: TM1ChoreExecute API SSL Read Error in Server Logs

This particular error comes up a lot. It is usually indicative of a momentary drop in the network affecting client-server communications, on a poor network the message log can be clogged with literally thousands of "SSL read error. SSL Error: 5" messages. From a TM1 logger perspective it i...
