Re: TI and Parallel Interaction
Yup, 9.5.2. I should update my profile. So have parallel exports have become the norm for you since 9.5.2? Regarding rules, I’m wondering if parallel interaction may have practical limitations when rule complexity / data size thresholds are exceeded and reverts to hard lock behavior. Anyone else hav...

TI and Parallel Interaction
Given IBM's best practice note on PI on TI's: Parallel Interaction allows for simultaneous execution of TI processes reading and/or writing to the same cube – none of the data loading processes blocking the others – without needing to use Batch Update Start / Batch Update Wait Finish. Remember that ...

Doh! The manual pays off for once! I thought I'd scoured every line in the guides but I missed this.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Lock Statuses in TM1Top
Does anyone have any insights or empirical observations on interpreting lock status codes in tm1top? Tm1Top has two columns, “Obj Lock Status” and “User Lock Status”. Some codes I currently see are: (R)1(IX)0(W)0 (R)29(IX)1(W)0 (R)51(IX)3(W)0 Are some lock codes perhaps indicative of "harder&qu...

Re: 952 - Memory Leak?
Steve, We too have been experiencing aberrant yet consistent memory issues since we moved to 9.5.2. Symptoms: - Slow but continuous increase in tm1s.exe memory footprint (18%->24% over three days with minimal data activity). - Swap jumps to full as TM1 somehow gets entangled despite available physic...

Sorry for raising the dust, but I've made a simple Java-based tool for this purpose . Hope it helps someone. - Yuri Yuri, just wanted to thank you for sharing this. I haven't implemented the stress test (yet) but I've found the example code to be invaluable given the dirth of javaapi documentation/...

Design: Cube Viewer as Widget
I'd like to sollict feedback on the feasibility of the following idea (pasted verbatim from an e-mail exchange): Also, here's an idea I've been mulling over on how to achieve the ultimate design goals of speed, simplicity, customization, and column expand/collapse. Out of the box, the native Perspec...

Thanks jorelb!
Changing the service account to a local account fixed it.
I'm guessing some overnight IT patch must have screwed with it.

Navigation of ALL Websheets have broken
I've stepped into a pretty big fire drill this morning. In TM1Web, clicking on *any* websheets (across *all* TM1 server instances) results in prompting the user to download the websheet as oppposed to rendering it in the right-hand frame as usual. The icon for the websheets has changed to the little...

F9 versus Application.Calculate
I'm seeing a marked performance difference (10x) between a refresh perfomed with a manaul F9 keystroke compared with executing an Application.Calculate in VB. This is on a worksheet with ~20k dbrw statements. The F9 method is faster. Does TM1 "intercept" F9 when entered manually and proces...

TM1 Benchmarks: Power7 AIX vs Nehalem Windows
After 9 months of external TM1/BI hosting, we’re planning to deploy a new TM1/BI architecture hosted internally. Poor Perspectives VPN performance and easier backend integration are the two key motivations behind the move. Additionally, we anticipate TM1’s usage continuing to grow as data sets a...

Re: Get USERID in TI Process
As ususal I am probably missing something here. TI runs at Admin level. Even an Admin user can't see clients' private subsets and incidentally, that's also true of the API (or at least the C/VB API, I haven't used the .Net one extensively yet). The process knows who triggered it, but it still runs ...
