Re: 2.0.9.16 Rule save time dramatically less - Feeder calcs?
At some point the rule compiler became intelligent enough to know that you had not changed the feeders and so does not recompile them. This means you can change rules quickly and is generally regarded as a good thing... You do need to take care though as it's probably possible to dream up a use case...

Virtual Machine configuration and PA
Hi, We have two different customers that are exhibiting broadly similair issues. The total RAM in the box doesn't add back to that showing in the task manager. i.e. The RAM on the VM is 72GB, the PA services total 35 GB but the VM is running at 95% RAM consumption, with ~30GB "missing". Ad...

Re: Perspectives Excel 64 bit slice crash
Do you have the Pafe loaded in as well? The two clients are not 100% compatible and the hang on slice is one of the symptoms.

Re: TM1.Lock.Exception Throwing IXConflict on object }DimensionProperties
Thanks, I'll give this a try, the build and destroy a sub versus all dimension didn't work. (I used static dims rather than MDX ones due to some issues with the naming of some views causing the MDX to fail).

Hi, Seen on version 2.0.9.15 (developed on this release so I can't tell if this is new). Have a muti-threaded load routine that works exactly as intended, except first use after a server restart. After a server restart the first call to the job that spawns all the independent RunProcess loads, gets ...

Re: Dynamic view update using ViewMDXSet in PAW
Hi Lav4you, I would imagine what is going on is something like this. You define view A which is contained in PAW screen B. User opens PAW screen B, at this point PAW screen B has a local copy of the view A which is the user is free manipulate and navigate subject to rights etc. You change the defint...

Re: ODBC Connection Performance Degradation in PA Server 2.0.9.14 and later
Hi mce, There has been a change in the handling of ODBC in recent releases, however we were getting out and out failures not performance drop off. There is a long thread by Herman on the IBM forum that details something in this space, where some specific type of rule references are hitting performan...

Re: Can I load a .cub file into TM1 without restarting?
I've not attempted for a long while so it may no longer be possible.
If the cube is fed by another cube you'll need to process the feeders for the feeder source cubes as well.

Product that creates loads of named ranges in Excel
Hi, I think I have asked this before but is anyone aware of an Excel add-in that creates vast (1,000s) of named ranges in Excel, often of the hidden variety? This causes poor performance in Pafe (well worth checking the named ranges if you have slower than expected excel sheets). One book has so man...

Re: Quickly promote or copy a PAW book
Worth noting that I can not get this to work with workbenches, rather annoying.
Does anyone know of a method of promoting / repointing a workbench?
They do not show up in Lifecycle Management either

Re: PAW/PAX reports, need some advice
Also, worth mentioning that Dynamic Quick Reports are supposed to be released soon. This is much much, more flexible. Not sure on your timescales but this is supposed to be out in Q1, usual disclaimers apply. Don't stake your job / reputation on this.. Believe DQR will meet your report specification...

If you put an apostrophe in the blank column you can probably keep your report layout working.

Re: Order set in prolog tab in a view created with MDX is no the order running in datatab
Is this the same thing as view dimension order though?
OP seems to be talking about element order within the a set being different depending on how the view is accessed?
Since all the other dimensions are pick of single members I can't see why dimension order of view would be impact the set order?

the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away Job 1:21 in case you want to know, not the Apple guy. (I had to look this up, just in case anyone gets ideas about my detailed knowledge of scripture!) This kind of thing should be configurable and left in the hands of the user. It's massive assumption and g...
