Re: PAW workbooks stop working after change in dimension

This is all guesswork, your are probably best raising this with IBM support. Can you say a bit more about the data grid, is it a saved view that you are just opening in PAW or a saved layout on saved PAW sheet or a saved view on a PAW sheet? Are there any (new style) hierarchies on the dimension con...

Re: PAW webpage constantly refreshing after logging in

We've had this issue as well... From memory it relates to not all of the PAW services starting and being "unpacked" properly before you use PAW for the first time leading to corruption of the internal DB that PAW authenticates against. This leads the log-in screen to get stuck in loop authenticating...

Patch for JAVA vulnerabilities

Hi, It may have passed some people by but the last two releases for 10.2 and 10.2.2 contain some patches for vulnerabilities in JAVA, as listed here here. Not being a JAVA or InfoSec specialist I'm not in a position to judge the criticality of the issues, anyone care to offer a view? Does anyone kno...

Pretty sure what you are doing is not supported.
The windows version of PAW is only supported in Win 2016 server as this is the OS version that supports the use of docker.

Re: TM1 DBSW loop in VBA

Pretty sure you can't do this via VBA.

If you have the skills to write VBA then you are likely better off putting the data into a csv (programmatically) and then triggering a TI to load the data (programmatically).

HierarchySize Function

Anyone seen the equivalent of DimSiz for Hierarchies?

HierarchySize or HierarchySiz doesn't compile and I can't see any other likely candidates.

Anyone spotted the function?

For speed efficiency consider putting an additional measure in your exchange rate cube to calculate the average (((DB('Exchange Rates', 'Actual', !Currencies, !Currency, 'Ending Rate', !Months))+(DB('Exchange Rates', 'Actual', !Currencies, !Currency, 'Ending Rate', ATTRS('Months', !Months, 'Prior'))...

Re: Concatenated string with Expand Function

I think that even in this simple case the expand approach is well worth the (should be small) additional effort of getting it working. The repeated part of the code is reduced to the variable assignment and this can often be constructed very simply in Excel. The syntactically complex part of the cod...

Hi Roland, Just in case you are not aware this forum is not related to IBM and we are not able to raise bugs on your behalf, you 'll need to raise this direct with IBM.

If you are just letting the group know, then thanks for the info!

Cheers,

Re: Changing data via a graph in PAw?

From what perspective on you looking? Hierarchies is a massive change at the back-end and will I think lead to very different designs in the future. PAW itself as a graphic web-interface is also a step-change in what was available, though this is perhaps more of a catch-up from IBM versus competing ...

Re: Time dimension, alternate drill-down path

Just to side track this post, the new hierarchies functionality works very well with the time dimension.

I'm not sure how well this interacts with CA / BI but I would hope very well since hierarchies represents a move to MDX standards by TM1, something that CA / BI already respects pretty well.

Re: PAW ERROR - Unable to fetch data 'qdpu.....' can not be found in collection oft type dataset

Hi, If you are using PAx then when you point the Excel client then you need to point it at the IP address of PAW server not the TM1 server, if you don't then some of the shared objects will not render, like the cube viewer. If you are using PAx the IE11 is a pre-requisite for the shared objects in P...

Re: Right privileges to edit rule (normal user).

The other thing to consider is if the rule needs editing once written then it could (should?) probably be generalised such that it's behaviour can be changed by setting an attribute value. In your case the exception could be defined by flagging the exception in an attribute rather than direct edit o...

Hi,

Can't see your screen shot for some reasons o can't tell what client you are in.

If you are in PAx, check you are pointing at PAW and not TM1, check that you have IE11 installed.

Re: Delete Consolidated Elements

You've not mentioned if your Cs for the two hierarchies are mutually exclusive. If you have the same Cs in both hierarchies then your code will break both hierarchies.
