Finally! :o
Must have a look at how they've done it.

Re: Table on TM1

You can certainly use a sequential dimension to capture your data. But since your content doesn't seem to work well in TM1, can you explain what you are going to do with it?

Re: Data encryption at rest with PA local v 2.0.3

I raised this with IBM in Feb 17 about PA Local 2.0 and received nothing of use. I suspect that the FIPSOperationMode parameter may be relevant but (again) the documentation is of no help.

Re: Multiple TM1 Applications on one Application Server

Short answer is yes. In PM you can connect to and build applications from multiple servers. Possibly stating the obvious, the applications should have different names. I haven't used the application migration facility as it had a poor reputation (possibly been fixed) and I found that rebuilding an a...

Re: TM1 Web- Cell Background Color Change

That looks like a grid, not an active form. If you use an active form, you can put conditional formatting rules in the format area at the top and they will apply to the current output.

Re: PAW questions

The current version is supported under Docker for Windows (Server 2016) but I have not heard positive reports about it so you are better off installing on Linux (IBM push Red Hat but Ubuntu is fine) I have now heard from the InfoCat team that the latest release of PAW for Windows is stable and reco...

Re: PAW questions

PAW is a separate SKU. Also, it requires Docker to run. The current version is supported under Docker for Windows (Server 2016) but I have not heard positive reports about it so you are better off installing on Linux (IBM push Red Hat but Ubuntu is fine). This can be virtualised. It is a new set of ...

There isn't any. (Well, only the extension 8-) )
For strange historical reasons TM1 exports files as CMA. You can parse them into Excel or just rename them to .CSV .

Re: View Extract with TM1 API

I am planning to wrap rest api with JAVA and possibly publish it via github too. :D
What a good idea :)
Hubert Heijkers, who 'owns' the REST API, has some routines for Google's Go language, but when I last looked they weren't as comprehensive as TM1PY:

Re: View Extract with TM1 API

Re: View Extract with TM1 API Unread post by macsir » Tue Oct 24, 2017 4:47 am I would recommend to achieve this via REST API which is the future. I'd second this. As an example, using Marius Wirtz' TM1PY libraries: """ Create MDX View on }ClientGroups cube and query data through it. IMPORTANT: MDX...

Re: is python is used in Planning analytics

I have been working with Marius and with Jason Kapp to adjust TM1PY to work with TM1 SaaS. Marius has released a new version which should handle this but I have not yet tested it myself. I suggest you download it and try, and let him know at https://github.com/cubewise-code/TM1py how you get on - we...

Re: Create hierarchy by attributes in PA

I'm not convinced you will be able to see the hierarchy in TM1 Web, pretty sure it is only available in PAW and PAX. The "old" clients won't be able to see them, I'm slightly hesitant as I know they refreshed TM1 Web a little in the last release and I have not directly checked. Just checked on PA 2...

Re: Threads on TM1RunTI

Running TM1Top plus Windows (or similar) Task Manager should tell you the answer to this - but might tell you about some locking in your TIs. Don't think using the same user is a problem though check the login count in }ClientProperties.

Re: HierarchySize Function

Digging in somewhat it turns out that DIMSIZ is a rules function (which can be used in TI like almost all of them) - clue is that it is short and cryptic. This can be done with Marius Wirtz' TM1py libraries: from TM1py.Services import TM1Service with TM1Service(address='', port=8045, user='', passwo...

Re: Finding out which Views a Subset belongs to?

I've just done this using Marius Wirtz' TM1PY libraries for Python (https://github.com/MariusWirtz/TM1py) in 24 lines, 6 of which are near duplicates to cover private and public subsets which I should have put in a function.

If you can write or specify your own SQL I find UNPIVOT (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lib ... .105).aspx) to be a handy way to unpack lots of data columns into rows to save CELLPUTNs.

Re: Securing dilemma

It's not that hard to write a TI which creates a group for each project manager, then assigns rights on (eg) name or attribute. Generally TM1's use of groups for security is efficient and flexible and (with the above) can cope with the use case you have.

Re: External access to TM1 cube via MDX

There is no IBM supplied ODBC driver for TM1 - but there are tools (for $) which effectively provide one. However, I suggested you should look at ODBC via TI. TM1 supports writing to relational databases using the keywords ODBCOPEN and ODBCOUTPUT. For the latter, despite the 'OUTPUT' term, this just...
