I'm pretty sure the forums TM1 Tool add in as some code for stripping out TM1 formula when they are nested, its pretty old though and may not play well with PAx

Re: Check if the data of two cubes are the same

A couple of thoughts 25 dimensions in a cube is pretty unusual, are you sure you have the design right or consider hierarchies in the latest release. As to your actual problem How about using DOS to compare the .cub files on the disc, I've never tried this so I'm assuming that two identical cubes at...

Re: Parameter in TI process

Hi Pluto, welcome,

(This assumes you mean parameters rather than variables as defined in a TI process)

The short answer they should be whatever you need them to be...
Typically for the scenario you describe they will be some of the dimensions of the source cube, i.e. time and version

PAx, authenticating with CAM and mutiple instances

Hi, We've a client UATing PAx and we are having an erratic issue with the PAx client where the authentication is not persisting. They are using CAM authentication / Mode 5. What should happen is that when you log into a single instance, you do not need to log into all the other instances as your cli...

Also agree this should be working.
Maybe do a rule trace on the zero consolidation and just check that there is no rule applying?

Re: Public Subset Alias Turned Off After Dimension Rebuild

I expect the alias is being recreated during the rebuild rather than just refreshed. Look the function attrdelete function and comment it out. If you have used the TI wizard you need to change the settings relating to the attribute.

Re: How to reference data lines as variables in TI?

Interesting I had not noticed that issue, though I am nearly always using Expand with text rather than numbers. Thanks for raising. Love the way that IBM document the defect so they don't have to treat it as a defect because it is documented, that seems to be a fairly recent addition to the document...

Re: How to reference data lines as variables in TI?

You need to use Expand to translate your string reference to an indirect variable reference. sInputColl = Expand('%Coll' | numbertostring(X) | '%'); #Expand returns a string (or do it all on a single line) nInputColl = StringToNumber(sInputColl); So if Coll10 contain the value 99, when X=10 nInputCo...

Re: Dimension subset editor in TM1 Perspectives

The other reason that the subnm double click often fails is that people often try and reference another cell to get the server name, this will stop the double click from working.

=Subnm("Server:Dimension",....

works

=Subnm( A1 & ":Dimension",....

will not work

Re: Checking Element Level Security in a TI processes

You could take this a step further. 1. Set up a subset that uses the MDX. 2. Create a "Front end cube", dimension by }Clients and a dimension with the various parameters. 3. Give the parameter list a pick list attribute and assign the MDX subsets. 4. Remove the parameter from the TI and read it from...

Re: Invalid string

This issue often happens because the wizard in the data tab assumes that every field that contains a number is a numeric variable type. So your year field will often end up as a numeric variable. This then causes syntax errors at a later stage.
So check the data tab basically.

Re: PAW / PAX performance discussion

Hi Robster,

I've noticed the lag in dragging panes as well. Can I ask if you are using PAW through a RDP session connecting to a remote location? I have found that this seems to be the main contribution to the lag rather than PAW itself?

Cheers,

PAx and Issues with Excel Status Bar

Hi, We've had a few reports from customers that the status bar in Excel stops working, the piece where you can highlight a cell range and get the sum / count /average and so forth in the bottom right hand corner. I'm sure I saw another posting on here that mentioned it in passing but can't find it n...

Re: Ordering of Dimensions

So the rule of thumb is shortest sparsest to longest and most dense. I don't think that density is as simple as (No of populated cells/ No of N level cells), it is more "if Element 1 is populated, if I keep all the other cell references the same, what is the likelihood of Element 2 being populated a...
