DimensionElementComponentAdd does not work aliases
Hi all, I am currently using PA on Cloud. We have a pretty simple TI that does DimensionElementComponentAdd in Prolog. As we deployed our solution in PAW, we used an Action Button to call this TI, and also use picklist from sets to guide user input. Such sets are using Alias since it is easier for u...

Re: IBM Planning Analytics On Prem
Hi David,
Yes, we faced the same issue too i.e. unable to detect PAL v2 TM1 models using 10.2.2 Perspectives (FP4 or Fp6) despite setting that tm1s.cfg parameter and aligning the SSL cert. This means any upgrade to PAL will require all Excel clients to be upgraded as well.

Re: IBM Planning Analytics On Prem
Hi all, We are still facing issues with installing PAW on a virtualised environment using VirtualBox and a Windows Server 2008. We have to enable VT-x hardware virtualisation setting in VirtualBox for the VM as the OS of the VM is 64-bit. But because of this, we cannot further apply the same setting...

Re: IBM Planning Analytics On Prem
Harry, this can be because of the upgrade to TLS 1.2. Upgrade your perspectives to FP6 or enable preTLS 1.2 in tm1s.cfg: "SupportPreTLSv12Clients=T" More information is here: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27048181 We added the said parameters and it still does not work ...

Re: Setting TM1 Password Restrictions
You ca set the minimum length, number of login attempts and days until a password expires. That's it. No special character checks, no complexity checks, no similarity to last password checks. If you have any of these requirements then honestly the only solution I would consider is single sign on wi...

Re: IBM Planning Analytics On Prem
Another thing to note. It appears that we cannot use 10.2.2 Perspectives to connect to PAL models. Can someone confirms this too? This is a departure of previous upgrade. Perhaps things don't work this way for major release. We will check the cfg file to see if it's due to any min/max version parame...

Re: Planning Analytics Local 2.0: Multiple Hierarchies
Hi harrytm1 Furthermore, if PAW front-end only can create hierarchies using attributes, such hierarchies will only be limited to 3 levels i.e. top node > attribute values as c-elem > underlying n-elem. We don't think use of virtual dims are solely limited to such attribute hierarchies. We think the...

Re: PA for Excel - subset editor
Yeah, this is the problem we encountered too and i posted in another thread which Steve replied. Not sure why PAW is needed. Perhaps multi hierarchy feature is managed from PAW instead of TM1server?

Re: Planning Analytics Local 2.0: Multiple Hierarchies
Just a quick update. Hierarchies created in PAW are actually created as dim files in the same Data folder of the model. Just that you won't find them under Data folder. Instead, a sub-folder e.g. Product}hiers is created and each hierarchy, which is now a dim file, is stored there. That makes sense ...

Re: Planning Analytics Local 2.0: Multiple Hierarchies
I'd recommend using these TI functions to create additional hierarchies for your dimensions http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_ref.2.0.0.doc/c_hierarchymanipulationturbointegratorfunctions.html Those give you full control over your hierarchies design, ...

Re: Planning Analytics Local 2.0: Multiple Hierarchies
Oh, by the way, spotted this function SubsetElementGetIndex . Is this available in previous version, or new to PAL 2.0? Seems like the function that we have all been waiting for! It's in 10.2.2 FP6 too Thanks for pointing this out, Brian. We skipped FP6 due to certain defects so we miss this new TI...

Re: IBM Planning Analytics On Prem
Hi, The architecture has now changed. PAx needs to point at PAW in the admin host, plus IE11 or Edge is required client/ PAx side for the common objects (i.e. subset editor and cube viewer) to load. Thanks, Steve. Was wondering if this is really true so we are installing PAW on a separate image to ...

Re: IBM Planning Analytics On Prem
Hi all, My colleague encountered an issue during testing of the recently released PAL 2.0 and PAx. After installing PAL and PAx, he tried to use PAx by launching the subset editor and cube view. In both cases, the resulting pop-up will fail to load. From the error tracing utility, he found that PAx ...

Planning Analytics Local 2.0: Multiple Hierarchies
Hi all, We are currently testing the recently released PAL 2.0. One of the features we are very interested in is using hierarchies as virtual dimensions in PAx (fka Cafe) and PAW (I don't think it works in TM1 Web, but will certainly test it). One thing we know is that multiple hierarchies can be cr...

Any benefits for using ViewConstruct in TI?
Hi all, I have been receiving conflicting views on whether using ViewConstruct with MTQ enabled in a TI will speed up the processing of a TI when the view is acting as a datasource. The following link seems to imply that: https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21960495 I also searched the...

Performance Modeler: Unable to edit control objects
Hi all, I just discovered that Performance Modeler (TM1 10.2.2 FP3 IF1) does not allow us to edit most control objects i.e. open attribute cubes or control dimensions. This of course can be done in Architect. The only exception appears to be control cubes relating to access rights assignment. Is the...

Re: New Product : TM1 Gateway - Visualize your TM1 data with market leading Visualization and BI tools
Sounds good! A question though. Does it mean that the customer will then need to purchase TM1, a BI software e.g. Qlikview and TM1 Gateway (your 3rd party tool)?
Apologies for not understanding this product well. What is the advantage of this set-up versus having a combination of TM1 and Cognos BI?

Hi,
Anyone has any idea how to set up the MDX in a subset to handle the problem mentioned in my post above?
Many thanks!

Re: Filtering a cube based on a Dimension value
Hi, This thread is really useful! I now know how to create a dynamic subset to use the selected element in a title dim to filter the elements in a row dim. I need some advice on the following situation. I have three dims: Company, Cost Centre and Currency. In the Cost Centre dim, there is an attribu...

Re: Putting Expand function to a good use
Hi, In the case where the source file contains monthly data in columns, this means we need to load into the corresponding period elements. If we are using continuous time dimension, how would the Expand function work to identify the correct period element to load into? This would mean that the eleme...
