Re: Inspecting views

Thanks Wim. Will be very handy for anybody inheriting a system that has (how should I say) evolved over time.

Re: MDX Subsets & BI

Thanks for getting back to Mac. As it turns out the issue was with a filter rather than a subset coming through in BI but thanks your reply,

Jim.

Re: Unusual Problems with Text Files in TI Processes

Are there any free form text fields within the Data? If there are, within this field there may carriage returns or ". If there are if would throw everything off.

MDX Subsets & BI

Guys,

We are seeing different numbers of elements in subsets in BI than in architect. Does BI run with the last subset size or does it refresh the subset?

Re: TM1 process in chore starts with 2 min delay

Are there any other chores running at the time? Are there any meta updates happening? Have you checked top (or whatever the modern fangled thingie is) when it is happening to see if anything else is running?

Re: Custom Workflow

This is food and drink for most experienced consultants. One issue is they'd need to have more information. Most custom workflow builds are just that, custom, and can change depending on the circumstances. Also keep in mind, this is the day job for most consultants, and while we understand that you ...

Re: Dimension update result in element loss

Instead of having hard coded rule like that, create a lookup cube or an alias and have the rule looking at it, so something like: ['Method'] = S: IF(CapIt(AttrS('Accounts',!Accounts,'Flag'))@='Y' ,'N/A' ,Continue ); That way the rule will not fail even if it is removed. It also takes away the proble...

Re: Dimension update result in element loss

Orlando,

That just can't be it as the process issue would have arisen earlier. You need to keep in mind when the delete all is committed. My guess would be that one of the rule accounts has actually been removed from the chart accounts. May be it's being recycled?

Re: Dimension update result in element loss

Does the process do a complete rebuild? If it does my guess would be that an account hard coded in to a rule is being removed. But without knowing the rule / process detail it's very difficult to say for certain.

Re: replace a subset value in db function

I always lean towards a lookup cube as it can be used within multiple cubes if you don't have a shared time dimension or even multiple time dimensions within the same cube.

Re: PAW server hardware requirement

16GB of RAM / 8 cores is recommended. For 100 users that should be fine. Most of the heavy lifting is done by TM1 so RAM usage is pretty stable. That's a very glib statement. Some rule heavy models with less users can take a crap load more memory than 16GB. I have 16GB in my desktop at home for gam...

TM1 License Question

Guys, The site I'm on is being audited by IBM. They are in the process of calculating their software PVU count. I have helped them out by coming back with a TM1 number. We have 2 physical servers and I was able to calculate the PVU value for these easily. We do however also have 2 web servers as wel...
