Re: Planning Analytics using twice the memory of 10.1

This goes back to the point I raised earlier regarding attribute based alternate hierarchies. Performance would be hit if the dimension had run in memory before the alt hierarchy, if it was already it would be an advantage. You could also argue it would have initial performance updates after restart...

Re: Planning Analytics using twice the memory of 10.1

I do wonder if this memory increase is down to them adding the attribute based hierarchies? I doubt we'd be able to prove it either way, but for me the biggest difference between the 2 versions,

Jim.

Re: Planning Analytics using twice the memory of 10.1

Unfortunately this does not seems to be the cause of the problem, or if it is then it is not confined to time dimensions. You made me think there Paul. I originally thought Lotsa only gave a time dimension as an example. I went back and that seems to be the case. He does not specifically say that i...

To be fair you'll find a lot of software that has issues with Chrome.

Re: Drop Down Calendar Selection

BTW A pick list isn't just a single list. If you do create a pick list cube (or not) you can link the lists via rules for say Day, Month and year to only show the values as they apply, so you can set month to null if no year is selected, then set day to null if no month and then change the values di...

Re: TM1 Usage of more Memory each time a Process is used

Hello there, Points about this are spread across this board but difficult to find. Basically TM1 caches values for users to come back to. Theory being that if you cache the value rather than calculate it every time you get better performance. When a data change comes in however, TM1 no longer uses t...

So please Tomok don't just point fingers and throw mud, any old hack can do that. I just did it above, it's not nice and it achieves nothing. As you'll have heard many times, if you don't have anything good to say, don't say it. [hack in]Wow! I'm sorry that I made you feel it necessary to raise the...

Re: Server Locked after save data process and save data is running for a long time .

My point is that IBM's request for the model and data is valid. If you choose not to share it with them then you forfeit your right to whine about them not being able to help you with a randomly occurring issue. If only everything was that black and white. The day you're stuck on a client that does...

Re: Server Locked after save data process and save data is running for a long time .

IBM refuses to do anything more unless we hand over our entire model and data, which we do not do. Why would you not? "Hand over" is probably not good wording. You do know that their license agreement with you precludes them from disclosing any of your data, anywhere, for any reason? I guess your m...

Re: Consolidation advice

This sounds more like an allocation rather than a consolidation. Like all allocations you to agree a method with those in finance. For costs you normally allocate the likes employee costs via FTE.

Does the user you are using to connect to the DB via ODBC have access to the table? Keep in mind that when you run it in Studio you will be running it as you,

Re: Process Stuck on Zero Out

Note sure if it is getting unhappy here: SUBSETELEMENTINSERT(dimIndex, subRef, strLoopEle, SUBSETGETSIZE(dimIndex, subRef) + 1); may be worthwhile trying: SUBSETELEMENTINSERT(dimIndex, subRef, strLoopEle, 0); If memory serves, I remember the 0 index adds to the end but you will need to test. Failin...

Re: Improve TI Processing Time

Based on what you've said the main culprit is either under performing feeders or just a plain old overly complicated rule on either side. But saying that there are other variables like users entering data, etc that could explain the reasons for this. Without doing an investigation it'd be difficult ...

Re: Tool to detect overfeeding?

It's not necessarily reversing your rule, it could also be that 1 element feeds several other elements, even if that one element does not occur in the rule. Very true. The example I always give for this is product margin. Sales units is the drive of sales, but it's also the driver of Margin, you do...
