Re: IBM PVUs based on VM processors or Physical Processors
Hi another question on the unweeded garden that is TM1 licencing. Is there any truth in rumour IBM ignores processor limit assigned to VMs when calculating PVUs and goes for the physical machine on which the VM resides. Ie have max of 4 cores dedicated to our VM which equates to 4 * 70 = 280 PVUs, ...

Re: Cannot execute Generated processes
Why bother with the TM1User() at all? If this is only being used to attempt to guarantee uniqueness of the name, isn't NumberToString(Now) likely to be good enough? What are the odds of two users executing the same process within 1/10,000th of a second? (I think I've got my maths right on the number...

Re: Applying FP1 on TM1 10.1.0
Choosing either Yes or No will have no effect on the success of your upgrade. All you are choosing is whether the files that are going to be replaced are going to be put into a backup file or not. If you have installed in the default location, look in C:\Program Files\IBM\Cognos\TM1_64\uninstall\bac...

The application state is stored in the }tp_application_state}{<application id>} cube.
Yes you can update this via TI. This is what the Contributor/Applications front end is doing when you click on the buttons.

Re: How do I identify if DB is Down and QUIT TI Process
Create a process with an ODBC data source, give it a piece of simple SQL that you know works and will always return a small recordset. On the MetaData or Data tab just increment a counter to force the process to actually do something and complete successfully - if the database is available. In your ...

Re: Metadata for PM Application - where?
If we're talking PM Applications then we are talking about NewContributor (which ties in with the path that the OP mentions) rather than the TriedAndTrustedApplications folder structure. This Contributor data has always been held outside the TM1 Data Directory, as it is essentially configuration dat...

Re: Can TI write to Consolidation level cell?
I think you would need to be making sure that the TI is running against the appropriate sandbox. My guess would be that the action button is trying to run against Base, but from within Contributor you don't have direct access to it.

Try switching
ATTRS('Job', !Job, 'Entity')@=!Entity
to
!Entity@=ATTRS('Job', !Job, 'Entity')
I'm sure I've had issues in the past with the former, and fixed it with the latter.

In general, if you are looking at the element properties and you can't edit the weighting or change the element type, click on the element name on the left hand side of the properties window first. Having said that, if Europe does not have any parents, then having a weighting of zero is not a proble...

Re: Assign Constant value in Rule , Feeder problem
Whilst I agree with tomok and qml that given the information you have given us you don't need to be doing this, you need to think about what the right hand side of your feeder statement is doing. If the rule in your 'Test' cube is ['Actual'] = N: DB('constant', 'a', 'b') ; And if the only thing you ...

Re: ATTRS/N or DB}ElementAttributes for rule?
Interesting question. I recall Andy Key stating that he had been told that a DBR worksheet function is faster than a DBRA, but whether the same is true of rules functions I couldn't say; it would be interesting to know if his informant provided some details on that. (Whether the difference would be...

Re: TM1 V10.1 Release; New features And issues
you have to run it from TM1 Applications portal Unless you create your own shortcut to "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\IBM\Cognos Performance Modeler\cognosrcp.exe" Don't all reputable software companies install programs into your profile, so if three people use the same machine the same...

Re: MIGRATION TO NEW SERVER 4 PROCESSORS
TM1 will automatically use all resources available on the server.
The only manual change you can (optionally) make is if you are using the MaximumCubeLoadThreads parameter in your tm1s.cfg, then you will be able to increase it on the new server.

You say this is a data entry cube, do I assume that at some point you copy this data to the Product Forecast Data cube? Otherwise it seems to me that for the first 10 days of the month the data is effectively locked and comes from another cube, then on the 10th the security changes and the cell is S...
