Re: PA 2.0.6 Temporary Subset Unable To Register

I would suggest that a far better approach to deleting a temporary view or subset (which is a bit of an oxymoron) would be to ensure that all temp objects are assigned unique names. e.g. cTempView = 'whatever'; cTimeStamp = TimSt( Now, '\Y\m\d\h\i\s' ); sRandomInt = NumberToString( INT( RAND( ) * 10...

Re: issues with moving TI processes

Hi , i am having issues moving TI processes from one location to another. 1) I downloaded Bedrock TI processes 2) renamed them to removes dots (.) from their name ( for eg. from Bedrock.sample.pro to BedrockSample.pro) I'm not sure why you would do this, doesn't make much sense to me. If you are go...

Re: One vs Two Time Dimensions

In principle the new hierarchy functionality means the classic 1d vs 2d argument goes away, everyone should go 1d and use hierarchies to deliver the cross-tab year / month analysis. Yeah. Nah. Not quite. While in the past I have been unreservedly in the "multiple time dimensions camp" with the adve...

Re: Drills - Not working for users

The drill process has parameter values for the element references of the cell, but if an element can be part of more than one hierarchy, we lack information on the name of the hierarchy. This means that a drill from a cell to level 0 (all descendants elements of the selected cell) becomes problemat...

Do you allow users READ access to the }cubeDrill cube ?
SImilarly, READ access to the }Drill process ?
Yes. In the old UIs using the C API the end user only needed READ access to the }Drill process. With the new Rest API the user also needs READ access to the }CubeDrill cube in addition.

Re: TM1 Rules Query

I have two questions: 1) Is it possible to make the code dynamic so that it will cycle through all the Account Code and Cost Centre groupings? 2) How can I then refer to those Account Code and Cost Centre groupings when pulling the data from the Revenue Staging by Flight cube? To answer 1/ & 2/. TM...

Re: Re-syncing Leaves Hierarchy in PA

we have alternate hierarchies with leaf elements that do not exist in the Leaves hierarchy. My understanding is that this should simply not be possible. A leaf in any hierarchy must also exist in the Leaves hierarchy. I guess when you say it resulted from "incomplete migration" you mean a "cold" mi...

Re: Rule driven Consolidation values disappear on suppress Zero

The problem here is the calculated consolidation doesn't have any children with values so I have created a dummy child element under this consolidation element and fed it with some static value. let say the dummy element is'A' I fed it with a rule ['A']=100; Sorry for being blunt but the problem is...

Re: Rule driven Consolidation values disappear on suppress Zero

If your measure element is consolidated then data against the leaf descendants act as "pseudo-feeders" and there is no need to feed the consolidated rule (in fact you shouldn't feed a C rule . This will work fine in null suppression. The only catch is that the LEAF elements under the consolidation m...

Thanks Lotsaram, that saves us from spending time on figuring out something that will not work.
Using TM1Py to reschedule chores +/- 1 hour works like a charm.
It is just that the chores will still be scheduled in UTC and not local time due to the bug in the rest API

Has anyone encountered this in recent releases? Any ideas how to release the lock without stopping TM1? Yes to 1st question and nope to 2nd. Do you also notice a lot of sf_file error messages in the tm1server.log, especially on SaveDataAll but also sometimes with TI processes which delete view & su...

Re: PA Case Sensitive vs. TM1 10.2 not case sensitive

If (more likely when) case sensitivity is introduced I think it is a very safe bet that this will be controlled by a tm1s.cfg parameter where the default value is set to false for backwards compatibility.

Re: Hierarchies and element attributes

Is Alabama a leaf element? Leaves aren't unique and I think the values are actually stored against the Leaves hierarchy in the background to be shared between all hierarchies. Same named C elements however should be able to have different definitions and attribute values between different hierarchies.

Re: ViewZeroOut with Hierarchies in PA2.0

I've got a workaround. Not pretty, but it is promising. Got a process that "syncs' the Leaves hierarchy to the master dimension by putting any leaf elements that exist in just the alternate hierarchies in a consolidation "Other Elements" in the dimension. Then, we build the subset we want off of an...

Re: ViewZeroOut with Hierarchies in PA2.0

Got a couple of idea, but if anyone has a recommended methodology for achieving this, it would be nice to know. Got a couple of ideas, none of which seem all that appetizing. Basically the only option is to build a leaf level filtered subset on the hierarchized dimension(s) to mimic the intersectio...

Re: ViewZeroOut with Hierarchies in PA2.0

To answer your original question, pretty much the same answer as in this post . Basically you can't mix trad views with hierarchies. Never the twain shall meet. But I think your last question is the far more interesting and pertinent one. But that still begs the question: how does one use hierarchie...

Re: Monthly forecast phasing

The answer to your question is "Yes". If you want more than that then you're going to need to read and adhere to the request for assistance guidelines and provide a proper description. Until you do that the best anyone can do is point out that you will need some attributes in your time dimension lik...
