Re: Server Locked after save data process and save data is running for a long time .

Your issue is real. On PA instances I have also seen a lot of sf_DeleteFile and sf_SafeDelete errors, always to do with sub and/or vue files. It doesn't always occur on SaveData, sometimes it happens during TI process execution where a process that should execute in less than a second can drag on fo...

Re: Return codes and error messages

The error codes which that documentation is referring to are the error codes for tm1runti.exe which should not be confused with the exit code for the TurboIntegrator process itself ("process return codes"). If you want to validate the internal integer value of the process return codes this is quite ...

Re: How to generating a text file using Control cube?

Hi All, Can anyone help me is writing a TI code which generates a text file using }ClientGroups Control cube as a source. Basically we are looking to generate a text file that should contain the usernames(40 character length) and roles(40 character length) to provide for the Audit team. Thanks You ...

Re: Exporting data from view to file consuming memory

Hi guys, is there any difference when exporting data to files and importing it back to the target cube and moving data between cubes using CellPutN in regards of memory consumption? I'm exporting quite a huge amount of data to files but it consumes a lot of RAM and after the export is finished it''...

Interesting. Does that mean the the function CellIncrementN would not work in a BatchUpdate process?
Been a long while since I used it but pretty sure the answer is yes, exactly this problem.

Re: BatchUpdateStart and BatchUpdateFinishWait in master process

Correct me if I'm wrong but it could be still useful in a TI that loads data within a cube where the source view has lot of rule calc'd cells...at least as long as the new feature of invalidating only a slice of a cube's cache is under development Yes batchupdate could be useful in that scenario as...

Re: Running PA objects in 10.2

Answer is no unless it is the latest version of 10.2.2 FP7 plus fix packs. There was a recent IF to 10.2.2 FP7 which correlated to a IF of PA 2.0.2 or 2.0.3 which introduced a change to format of cube files. If you try and load a .cub file saved in a version since this update in an older version you...

@Wim Gielis I didn't read it anywhere, tried many trial and errors. Moreover executecommand doesn't accept parameters. If you have any other thoughts or ideas to it. Please share it here, I would be glad to hear it. :) I don't really know what I am reading here, you have me scratching my head to be...

Re: Get all SQL from TI processes

It shouldn't be too difficult to do via offline script as the .pro files are plain text. The properties you need to inspect are 562: DatasourceType 566: DatasourceQuery It is important to include a filter to only include processes where datasource type = "ODBC". (Due to the way TM1 handles memory an...

Re: RFE 116669 - TM1 Data Snapshot functionality - Copy rule to values in a TM1 cube

Hey Pete,
quid pro quo I have voted for your RFE. My favorite RFE is this one for temporary objects to be accessible by other TI processes that are part of the same transaction as the TI that creates them and not exclusively by the creating TI.

Re: RFE 116669 - TM1 Data Snapshot functionality - Copy rule to values in a TM1 cube

Although this would be a great feature I'm certainly also sympathetic to IBM's position as to put it bluntly making data copy much easier will attract more fools but making such a process foolproof will be impossible. For example what should happen if the destination version is either wholly or part...

You say you need BatchUpdate but do you really?

BatchUpdate more or less went the way of the dinosaurs when Parallel Interaction was introduced. So why do you think you need it?

Re: How to add validation error message for users?

Hello, I have 2 dimensions which are used in different cubes to build model, let's name them A & B. The elements of these dimensions are selected through TM1 web when users are doing planning. I have to implement a logic in such a way that while selecting the elements, one element of dimension B ca...

Re: Planning Analytics - number of elements in a dimension

Hey Wim, Just reading quickly your code it seems to be doing more than it needs to be doing if you just want to count the element in each hierarchy. You can get a count of element in any hierarchy just with regular old DimSiz function DimSiz('dim':'hierarchy'). In PAL if alternate hierarchies are de...

Re: Parallel run vs. ICX

All object names need to be unique. For parallel processing from/to the same cube it is important that all views and all subsets be uniquely named. Even if all views are using the same subset for products, measures etc? It's not the same cube, I'm just exporting the data from the cube to the text f...

Re: TM1RunTI and number of cores/threads

tm1runti is quite picky about text vs numeric parameter values. In my experience it quite likes or requires the process name and all string parameters to be in double quotes. Depending on how picky it is feeling it might also like the user and pwd in quotes as well. If using CAM it can also be picky...
