Re: Is there a way to get the Data Directory Location in TI?

I'm in favour of having a consistent folder structure for all environments - tm1s.cfg in the main folder and Data and Logging subdirectories sitting under that main folder too. Or any other way that is consistent. Since you can easily get the Logging directory path using GetProcessErrorFileDirector...

Re: Direct edit dimension collection has not been cleared before commit

Except that if you happen to be rebuilding a dimension then the 1st element to be added causes this error, and subsequent tasks on the dim fail. I'm currently getting errors on adding attribute values because of this; TM1 doesn't think my elements have been added, and on completion the dim is missin...

Re: Configuring AD/CAM/Cognos group with ADMIN privileges

Correct; TM1 doesn't seem to behave when you try to use rules to govern security. We got around it by using TIs instead. Yes, it isn't instant but you can provide access to the external group to run the TI, then the user just has to run the TI on their first log on. Word of caution tho; we've found ...

Re: no available TM1 servers in the drop down (TM1 web)

interestingly one of our servers has excatly the same issue; we are running 10.2.2 FP1 all the other servers we have use the same version and have no issue, yet none of the cfg or log files i've sent to IBM have helped figure out where the issue is. they suspect SSL comms somewhere along the line, b...

Re: Bedrock Issues

Issue: TI fails when destination has rules Process: Bedrock.Dim.Import, Bedrock.Dim.Export Version: 3.0 Details If used in conjunction with Bedrock.Dim.Export, the output file will include any rule-derived values from the element attributes cube. The import does not check if the destination is writ...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

I'm on the same set up as you, although we do use Ops Console and have desires to use CDM in the future too. My testing seemed to show it was mostly fine, as long as you don't currently or in the future have requirements to use other tools with TM1 then you should be fine.

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

Done some testing with both the manual approaches and the updaters; can't say I'm impressed. All of this is with 10.2.2 FP1 Server; no updater made available - "An updater kit for TM1 10.2.2 (Server Components) will not be made available due to a restriction with the fix packaging." I read...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

I've had multiple calls with IBM this week and this is the latest; versions < 10 - you are on your own. Only suggestions are upgrade to a supported version or deploy custom certs. the fix is currently in QA. they are trying to provide a single fix for all the different FPs of 10.x, and they are find...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

My point precisely and something that has been very firmly put to our contacts in IBM. We are indeed a very large customer for them, we are getting movement but its coming too slowly for us to enact a significant change to business critical systems. They might just be changing licenses, but due dili...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

Some more informal info I've had today; NO patch for anything below 10.x is likely. Fix for 10.x is due to be released imminently - no date available but believe it just awaits packaging and publishing. Only viable options for those on 9.x is to either upgrade or generate / install your own certs. T...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27041183 Step 3 of this technote covers what needs to be altered on a BI server using TM1 as a data source in order to swap it to the v2 cert. After a restart of the BI services this works fine, have tested it on the following; TM1 10.2.2 FP1 IF1015 B...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

Hi Steve However, I am not sure that there is an issue. The BI App Server needs to have the TM1 Client installed on it. I would have thought that, so long as this Client has the SSL v2 Cert then BI would be able to communicate with TM1 via the v2 Cert? Is there possibly something in the BI Inter-op...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

Cognos BI Connectivity;

Has anyone figured out how to get the Cognos BI server to use the v2 cert? Without doing that it can't see TM1 servers running on v2. The only idea I've had so far is to rename the new certs to the old names but I can't see that being very supportable by IBM...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

Update on my PMR: Instructions I have from the PMR are more comprehensive than the technote but that is a result of also dealing with custom certificates as well as switching from v1 to v2. The PMhub section on the technote as of the amendments made yesterday will achieve the same goal, so can be re...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

Once the certificates are updated to v2 on the server side (Certificate version = 2 on TM1 Admin Server and on Tm1s.cfg), the client isn't able to list the servers unless the SSL options are filled-in with v2. And this even with UseSSL=F ! This looks strange, because today with v1 certifcates, UseS...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

the instructions for PMhub / Ops Console were changed yesterday, but they still bare little resemblance to what I got via PMR and still seem to miss a load of steps out... this bit in the FAQ made me laugh; ...once every 10 years the certificates expire and we are forced to react quickly to prevent ...

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

Does this mean that updating the certificates to v2 on the Admin Server will be enough to solve the problem in my case? My concern is to go through the 24 Nov without planning a deployment on the clients... Unfortunately, I don't see how this could work. Clients would have to be updated too to use ...

great, except it tells us nothing new and points us back to the original technote anyway. I've received some stuff from my PMR today, hoping it'll complete the gaps and i'll then know exactly what we need to do

Re: SSL breaks on Nov 24

all fine except that option B still means local changes on client machines, and worse still it is usually harder for anyone with a deployed app to do rather than just asking users to update a client config (its no different to adding an adminhost really). people seem to forget that a lot of companie...
