DimensionElementPrincipalName for Excel?
I've got a situation where i'd like to be able to use some formulae in Excel that only work on the element name, but i might have values that are aliases of those elements. I know TI has DimensionElementPrincipalName, but does anyone know of a way to get the same kind of functionality within Excel?

Not had a response from either Applix or Cognos email addresses yet, but i'm suspecting some mixup where they think i'm no longer responsible for TM1 here. We've had a change in the licenising here and i've been nervous that our IT mob haven't been on the ball where payments and responsibilities are...

Can anyone else get in to the old forum OK? i'm trying to login and it says "user unknown" despite the fact that when i asked it to remind me of my user id and password, it returned them in an email fine!!! i think someone is trying to tell me something...

Orrrr you could use the addin i created and demo'd at the "TM1 User Conference of the North" last year :D This puts a drop down box in to the menu bar with 2 options, calc suppress ON and OFF. ON will ensure any new or opened wb will have calculation turned to manual. OFF will make it auto...
