Is anyone else wondering why they didn't use TM1?

Hi guys - thought I'd show my face again after a decade ;-) The UK government's Excel Hell is probably causing a few groans amongst TM1 consultants. £12 billion and they were using a spreadsheet! https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/oct/05/how-excel-may-have-caused-loss-of-16000-covid-tests-in-...

Re: Any Quality Open Source Olap ??

Unfortunately Jedox appear to have hobbled the OS version of V5 to such an extent that it won't even load my models any more. They have taken out significant functionality (like use of attributes) Be very careful of using this product if you think you may need an upgrade path, as changes like that, ...

Re: Any Quality Open Source Olap ??

Jedox have recently announced a change of policy as regards the OS and Premium versions of their product With V5 due for release next month the two versions will move back into synch. For those of us who were disappointed by the build quality of the existing OS version this is great news. The differ...

Any Quality Open Source Olap ??

Now that Jedox seem to have left Palo OS to wither away are there any other OS Olap products out there that can offer a credible alternative to TM1 for planning?

Re: Release of new PALO Community Edition

It seems to me that Palo is now the embarrassing relation of Jedox Pro. They made such a huge thing about being Open Source when they were starting out that it seems that they can't just kill it, but it now has its own web site and if you try to get the Channel Manager to tell you what the differenc...

Re: Release of new PALO Community Edition

FWIW, the commercial version didn't appear to have these limits. Then these must be new limits that they have imposed to purposefully hobble CE then - it certainly used to work fine before :? If that is the case it shows a very interesting change in Jedox's approach to the community edition doesn't...

Re: Release of new PALO Community Edition

Hello again chaps :D I have just taken a look at this "new" release (well it is the latest one and I've been away doing non-OLAP-development stuff for the last year). For reasons I can only guess at they decided to change the TM1 clone N: notation to B: So if you want to write/edit a base ...

Re: Number of users

Thanks for the feedack all Interestingly my model works just fine at one very major client without skipcheck and feeders - it's a dense planning model and so most cells viewed have values or are consolidated from cells that have values. The trade-off of having to write, test and manage feeders wasn'...

Re: Number of users

Next you'll be starting up old chestnuts like day light saving and time dimensions. Well I can't whinge about undo spread anymore Jimbo (apart from the fact that it makes the system fall over at this client every time they try it :-) So let me ask this a different way - how many of you have plannin...

Re: Number of users

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. I do realise (having been working with TM1 for 15 years) that it was a piece of string question but I wnted to leave it as an open question to see what the response was. I am quite surprised that a client is having issues with just over 10 users with a model that...

Number of users

In practical (rather than theoretical) terms can anyone offer any advice based on experience as to the number of users we should expect to be able to have on a TM1 server before we start to hit performance issues caused by the number of users per se (rather than data volumes)? Thanks in advance for ...

Not just unique from each other, but also unique from the element names.

Thanks for that - it confirms what we thought.

I keep hoping TM1 Web will have evolved a bit from when I last visited it about 5 years ago

TM1 Web - hide empty columns

Is theer an easy way to hide empty columns in a web sheet. We have 52 columns to accommodate the weeks in a year but sometimes we'll be looking at subsets of the year (say 10 weeks). This means that the first N columns will be full but there will be a number of columns on the right that want to be h...

Re: Spread according to profile

Hi Tomok
Is that what you are talking about?
Yes pretty much, thanks, and you've confirmed what I thought.

I'm a little bit rusty on the finer points of TM1 having been on the dark side (Palo) for a bit.

Re: no roll up button for subnm function

I remember logging this issue as an enhancement request about 5 years ago. I can't see a reason for the absence of the roll up functionality in the different UIs. Am I missing something (apart from the required functionality of course?).
