Re: TM1 Certifications

It's an online test Jim and therefore available to anyone worldwide. Would you, good sir, be interested in testing your mettle? For free??? :) Only kidding. If it's full of PA questions I'd be done for. The client I'm on has been stuck on version 10 for a while, heck we only upgraded to 10.2.2 as s...

Re: Old TM1 version

There was a VBA based tool (once Excel support came along) which sat over that which you could use to schedule the imports. It was about as reliable as a first generation steam train (as in, Stephenson's Rocket, but less robust) and although I used to use the thing daily I cannot for the life of me...

Re: TM1 Certifications

I should mention one other relatively recent development in this field too given my great admiration and esteem for the official IBM certifications. Cubewise has partnered with Deakin University in Australia to create a credential that might, well, actually mean something. It's not free but as I und...

Re: TM1 Tools not working in Excel 2016 (32 bit)

Hi Alan, I am having the same issue, then I fixed by ticking "Trust Network". But I've got another problem when clicked on the magnifying glass, I only got half window. [img]Capture.PNG[img] Is there a way to fix this? Thank you That's the one bit of the thing that was written by Martin Ryan rather...

Re: Old TM1 version

Hello, I'm using tm1 since 2016 and I always wonder what older TM1 (Sinper TM/1, Applix TM1) looks like ? Did Sinper and Applix have always used architect ? Did anyone have screenshot of older version ? Thanks ! Architect only came with version 7. Before that it was very different. Everything was b...

Re: DEL Command is not working in TM1 Process

2 remarks. You can use the function AsciiDelete. Good point. If you want to use ExecuteCommand with creating a text file, create the file in the Prolog tab and execute it in the Epilog tab. Then delete the temporary text file again. I was originally going to mention that but then on further examina...

Re: DEL Command is not working in TM1 Process

Del is a command which is internal to the command line processor. The usual way around this is to create a generic batch file with a parameter, such as: del %1 which then allows you to use ExecuteCommand to call that batch file. The second argument that you pass (separated by a space) is the name of...

Re: TM1 Web 2.0.6 - Bogus Timeouts

Yeah this bug in TM1 Web really get's my goat . (It isn't confined to just 2.0.6 BTW but crops up in all builds since Websphere replaced Tomcat from what I can tell). A colleague gave me a tip just a few days ago that a workaround to the "instant TM1 Web timeout" is to reset the user's password. Th...

TM1 Web 2.0.6 - Bogus Timeouts

Is anyone else using TM1 Web in PA 2.0.6? A new parameter was introduced to the web config file in 2.0.6 to deal with the timeout. If I may quote : The default TM1® Web session timeout is 20 minutes. When TM1 websheets are deployed to IBM® Planning Analytics Workspace, you might encounter TM1 Web se...

Re: Fix Pack Releases: PA2 / V11 Series

I missed posting another one (hat tip to Paul Segal); 2.0.6. Which is odd, since it is in fact my version. The What's New summary will be found here . The most significant of these (for certain values of significant) is: "IBM Planning Analytics Local 2.0.6 is the last release with support for Java T...

Re: Tm1web on https

To be fair, though, IBM doesn't seem to have gone to great lengths to incorporate this (pretty fundamental) task into its mainstream documentation. This article on 10.2.2 seems decently detailed, but in my humble it should be a step-by-step in the main documentation. There may be an equivalent docum...

Re: Element Security Override

In my humble the easiest way of doing this is to use a clone of the dimension in the other cubes. There are processes in the Bedrock library which can handle the cloning (including attributes) and which can be scheduled as chores.

Re: PA 2.0 - TM1Web reboot

Hi, This is probably a dumb question but does anyone know (on PAL) how to restart TM1Web? I've been looking all over documentations and web searches and can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks The same way that you do it in 10.2.2; the easiest way is through Cognos Configuration via the oh-so-intuit...

Hi @Alan Kirk, Thanks for your reply. Not having had the questionable pleasure of using PAx hands on I cannot say for certain, but ...

Re: When is a "hierarchy" not a hierarchy

Sigh, I'm still trying to get my users to stop saying "subsets" when they mean"consolidations" and vice versa... To that end, I much prefer the term "consolidation" to "rollup". Why? Because for the foreseeable future there will continue to be a little button named "Rollup" which has a distinctly di...

I'm going to lock this thread. It was intended to be a quick reference about dates and times (hence its presence in "Useful Code, Tips and Tricks", not the main forum). However it seems to have started to attract "any question related to using dates and times in my own environment", which was not th...

Re: Service Strange Behaviour

I don't really get what you mean. When an instance starts the }chores, }cubes, }dimensions, }processes (& }applicationentries) dimensions are all updated based on the file contents of the data directory. So when you say When the service starts no processes are being loaded in to memory yet the }pro...
