Re: Transaction Logs - Access Rights Required

Your approach with TIs sounds interesting. Do you not have challenges with this approach, when for example, you want to back out all transactions for a specific date ranges, user, element etc. I guess one would need a TI that read through all log files that are date stamped between a specific range...

Re: Transaction Logs - Access Rights Required

From what I can see, only users in one of the 3 admin roles can view the transaction log Only admins, anyway. I'm not sure if it's all three types because I regard the two newer groups as being a waste of space which were the result of regulatory demands to be Seen! To! Be! Doing! Something! after ...

Re: TM1 Bytes And Nybbles Series on The TM1 Channel

The third and final part of the current TM1 Nybbles sub-series on Windows Hints and Tips wraps up with an episode on useful tools. Of course, chances are that none of these will be unfamiliar to many if not most experienced TM1 users; Notepad++, 7Zip and WinMerge, including the TM1 language definiti...

Specifically "Completing Prolog"is the status which i see for the long time i.e for couple of minutes at least. You can't trust that. Remember that these actions are happening on the server, while the dialogs are on the client. Sending exact, precise, up to the minute information about what is happ...

Re: TM1 Bytes And Nybbles Series on The TM1 Channel

You aren't going to reconsider having a separate channel for the TM1 content verusus your gaming reviews? Ever see Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves where Little John says to Robin "You've stirred up a bloody hornet's nest now!" Same principle. That's not an original thought. Indeed in the first episod...

There are some security vulnerabilities in Java (I'll bet you've never heard those words before) which gave rise to a couple of new Interim Fix packs for 10.2.0 and 10.2.2 FP7. Links to the relevant pages are in the main post.

Is there any function in TI process to check the size of a file. I tried google and tm1 reference guide but couldn't find anything.
If not, is there a way to get the returnvalue from Executecommand().
"Size" in what sense; rows, bytes, kilobytes...?

TM1 Bytes And Nybbles Series on The TM1 Channel

The 5th episode of the TM1 Nybbles series went up an hour ago. TM1 Nybbles is the short form series; a maximum of 16 minutes of actual content plus intros, recaps and outros. (OK, one of them ran over by 33 seconds, but it'll average out.) You can spot them by the fetching shade of green on their th...

Hello, Anyone running PAW on a Windows 2012 R2 Server in a VMWare environment? Does it work well? Any performance problems? Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences. I can't help you with that one, because I weighed up the options and decided that I wasn't going to bother even installing a te...

Re: TM1 Active Form is returning Zeros even when suppress zero is set to True/1. Please help

TM1 Active Form is returning Zeros even when suppress zero is set to True/1. Please help The usual cause is that the values aren't really zero but really tiny way-down-in-the-decimal-places values, usually derived from rules. I'd slice the view in question and format Excel to show the maximum numbe...

Re: Request for help in a Quixotic quest against a useless Microsoft dialog

A small victory. No, we aren't rid of the Dialog From Hell, but at least MS has finally restored the Recent folders (complete with pinning ability) in the Office 365 incarnation of Excel 2016, version 1802 build 9029.2167. Oddly it's not in "What's New".

Re: Fix Pack Releases: PA2 / V11 Series

There has been a new release; 2.0.4 . This is the end of the line for the 32 bit server. It will cease to be in the 2.0.5 release. (Actually I'm surprised that it has lasted this long. I don't imagine that trying to run PAX or PAW from a 32 bit box would be a pleasant experience.) There will also be...

First, welcome back. As far as I'm aware it's been a few years since you darkened the doorstep.

Second, could you please advise which version you're on now? Your profile still says 9.0, which seems unlikely.

Re: Excel: Element of Subset?

Probably most of us have written our own VBA Add-In to do those functions that are present in TI but absent from the Worksheet such as SUBIX, ELISANC, etc. Unfortunately, since VBA cannot be used on TM1 Web it would be good to see these incorporated in the product by IBM. However, for the moment to...

At least in 10.1 and for that matter in 10.3, if the element is a valid element in the dimension then SUBNM will return the element regardless of whether it is in the subset.
9.5.2 and 10.2.2 for that matter as well. This is why a SubIx function has long been asked for.

There are new interim fix packs for 10.2.0 and 10.2.2, both of which address security vulnerabilities.
IBM Cognos TM1 10.2.0.2 Interim Fix 10 (23 Jan 2018)
IBM Cognos TM1 10.2.2 Fix Pack 7 Interim Fix 2 (23 Jan 2018)
