Re: ASCIIOutput - Measures across top

I guess you mean copy-paste from Excel ? Yes, that would be an absolutely fantastic idea. You can also have a look at the Expand function, possibly linked to looping over a dimension of measure names (or aliases, whichever works best).

Re: Learning TM1

Do you inherit a TM1 model that you need to support ?
Or are you required to set up a new model ?

Re: }ElementAttributes_ not updated with attributes

Whenever you have an alias set on a dimension and you have one or more alias values that are the same as the elements then TM1 will not accept those values in the }ElementAttributes_ cube. There were still be a value for the alias, like when toggle the alias on and off, but the cube will be empty f...

Re: Drill-through to a cube view

! Of all the combinations we tried I don't think we tried that one. TYVM! Hi Steve, But I did, see the first post of this topic. Instead of If( 1 = 0 ); I used: If( 'TM1' @= 'slow' ); and luckily this gives False as the result  i experimented with a Datasource type equal to None, or to Cube vi...

Re: Getting the last date of a month in TI

Good idea to use FormatDate and ParseDate ! I'm a fan of these. ParseDate and FormatDate can be really useful if the pattern of the dates can change. We do not necessarily rely upon yyyy-mm-dd and we are much more free in terms of input and output formats. For the last day of the prior month, we sub...

Re: Getting the last date of a month in TI

To me the easiest solution, with regular TM1 date functions, are as follows. The last day of the current month : # 2018-10-08 sDate = Today(1); # 21488 (= 43404 - 21916) nLastOfTheMonth = DayNo( Dates( Year( sDate ) + If( Month( sDate ) = 12, 1, 0 ), If( Month( sDate ) = 12, 1, Month( sDate ) + 1 ),...

Re: Drill-through to a cube view

Okay, thanks Steve. So I tried to do things that were not (meant to be) possible :D However, your scenario does not strike me as very improbable nor impossible. It only takes a couple coworkers working on the same data (cubes) and using the drill down in a non-trivial way - sooner or later one of th...

For me too, I am on 2.0.5 since a while and I don't recall having the seen the problem in a while. In the past it used to be an issue. Also in the Dimension Editor.

Re: Drill-through to a cube view

It is clearly a bug. The view is not shown, while still be created correctly. The subsets in the rows and columns are shown, but not those in the titles, while still be created correctly. In Architects / Perspectives cube viewer, we could still select the view from the dropdown, even though this sho...

If you are new to drill-throughs, check the product documentation of Planning Analytics, you'll find good explanations there.
Emphasis added.

I happen to be working on drill through to cube views the last 2 days. I don’t find the documentation good in this topic.

Re: Drill-through to a cube view

Hello Lotsa, thank you for confirming it’s a bug. However I’m not sure it’s harmless. The subsets in the titles are not picked up. I will test again today to exclude errors on my part. I will also test in a slice with DBRWs.

Re: Drill-through to a cube view

The drill view statement is: RETURNVIEWHANDLE( pCube_Tgt, c0 ); To make the example more visible, here I added 3 screenshots: 1: the view selection dropdown is empty and the drill view is not selected. Moreover, the 2 row dimensions contain the correct subset (with name and timestamp in it), but the...

Drill-through to a cube view

Hello all, I am experimenting with setting up a drill-through to a cube view, in Architect. 2.0.5 as the PA version. The scenario is that any cell can be drilled upon and the resulting view contains all descendants of the chosen cell. Like that, we see all numbers that make up the initial number. If...

Re: TI Function ViewMDXGet Not Working

Indeed, you would have to extract the MDX from the PA view, interpret / rework it and create a traditional view based on the result.

No. You would have to create a traditional view based on the MDX that you get with ViewMDXGet.

I have experienced this as well, but I have no clue on what causes and resolves this. So I would like to know the answer too ;-)

Hello Benoit,

Can you retrieve the first day of the new month in serial number format, subtract 1 and then manipulate the result to get the desired formatted outcome ?

Hello, I found this topic for the same issue, the button "Set Dimension Order" seams not to be working. It does, but you need to save changes to the structure of the dimension before. Arrange your elements. Press "Set Dimension Order" button Save your changes Then only re-open the dim editor and yo...

Re: Deleting elements from dimension

Indeed Tom, but in my opinion you have to build up this code step by step. If writing the code to delete an element does not work, then it will definitely not work based on attributes and comparisons and MDX’s. Also I first wanted to see an effort from the OP, like bgregs too I think.

Re: Deleting elements from dimension

That function is pretty simple, you can look at the documentation since you have been given the function name: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_ref.2.0.0.doc/r_tm1_ref_tifun_dimensionelementdelete.html You supply a dimension name and an element na...
