Re: Getting First children of a member

Indeed, ELCOMP is the one you need. Could it be that the first child is again a consolidated element in the Product dimension ? Then maybe it might be an idea to store the target level 0 element as a Text attribute on the consolidated Product element where the budget data arrive. Update the attribut...

Re: Dynamic subset to select all leaf-level elements, except one

I have a dynamic subset set up based on the following expression: {TM1FILTERBYLEVEL( {TM1SubsetBasis()}, 0)} It selects all leaf-level elements within the dimension. Is there a way to modify the expression to remove one particular dimension from the subset? Hello, Please remove TM1SubsetBasis and u...

Re: TM1 REST API

Thank you Edward, bgregs. I will come back to it when time permits.
For the VBA code, that's an option. I saw the VBA code by Paul Simon on Member Unique Names, the same principles can be used from there.
I will investigate ActiveConfiguration too.

Re: TM1 REST API

@Wim I think your point about "no additional libraries" might be misplaced. The point about libraries is to avoid re-inventing the wheel and focus on more value-adding activities. This is basically what TM1Py allows you to do and most of the hard work and abstraction of dealing with the API is alre...

Re: TM1 REST API

No problem Lotsaram. As long as it's useful I don't mind that much.

Just a shout out, if anyone else would know of solutions to 4 out of 5 questions (see OP), while still staying in the TM1 REST API itself and not resorting to additional libraries: feel free to comment. Thanks.

Re: TM1 REST API

Marius, I would like to come back on the 5th item above. I will only use the TM1 REST API for a few things, one of them begin the wish to retrieve the dimension names based on a cube name. So this URL: http://aex199:8001/api/v1/Cubes('Aexis_Planning')/Dimensions?$select=Name gives me in a browser: {...

Re: TM1 REST API

1. Try to add -ContentType 'application/json' into your Invoke-RestMethod command 2. Your output is basically right but because the returned json response might be too big for Invoke-RestMethod to deserialize. You need to change to JavaScriptSerializer instead 3. For https to work, you need to refe...

Now I looked at it and it's marvellous. Great job !
No need to reinvent the wheel.

Have you not looked in the TM1 Tools VBA at the function which "exports to Excel" a rollup?
No, I did not and I should have. Thanks for pointing out, I will have a look at it.

Re: Indenting dimension elements in Excel

Hi Wim, Another good exercise! I don't have time to test this out right now, but I will definitely take a stab at it when I get some time! I found the following function in the VBA API that looks like it _could_ be the function that returns the right information to build out the hierarchy. Again, t...

Indenting dimension elements in Excel

Hi all, Challenge of the day  We start with a flat list of elements and we want to add both indenting (based on the hierarchical relationships) and also an indicator for N / C / S type elements: 02.png The start is column B, and we want to have the indentation like in the Cube Viewer. Adding "i...

Re: TM1 REST API

Thank you very much Marius and bgregs. Good to see that it can be done, thanks. To give you a bit more background: this is not supposed to be used by users in a production environment, it's more targeted to increase my own efficiency in working with TM1. Most of all, point 2 above would be a timesav...

Thanks bgregs.

The bug has been raised with IBM. Feedback was received after a couple of hours, yet it was useless (the numlock thing and so on).

Re: Perspectives - Values Disappearing After Recalc

Hi

Does the first argument of the DBRW formula refer to the server name and the TM1RPTVIEW function or not ? Usually if it’s not it refers to a different slice and it will be as Lotsaram pointed out.

Re: TM1 Perspectives interacts with other VBA code in Personal.xlsb

I found the root cause ! Perspectives tries to be helpful and selects the TM1 ribbon. The VBA-code creates the ribbon for TM1 with the name !TM Therefore pressing Alt, then the ! key and Enter will activate that ribbon. But if on my keyboard this is Alt-8 it executes a different macro, the one attac...

Re: TM1 Perspectives interacts with other VBA code in Personal.xlsb

The tension builds... Nearly got this one solved. By playing around with the QAT icons (and reordering them) it appears that an Alt-8 is executed when Perspectives is opened. This executes the macro attached to the 8th QAT icon. If I reshuffle icons and put a different icon in the 8th spot, that one...
