Hi,

I notice the alias in the TM1RPTROW is code and description but your mdx seems to be just code without description

Could this be the issue?

cheers, Mark
An MDX returns a number of elements, you can still apply whatever alias you want, to the returned elements.

Re: Display element alias using TM1RPTRow and MDX

At first sight, this should work.

Can you create a view in the cube viewer with the alias turned on and your MDX expression,
then Active form to Excel and see if that works ?

Can you copy / paste here the TM1RPTROW function that you now use ?

Did you Google the word 'TM1RptRow' and use the first link ?

Now I cannot use ELPAR in my rule to pass the value based on condition since i have multiple Hierarchies .
Typically you would use an attribute to store the desired parent. This way you avoid the problem of Elpar with multiple hierarchies.

Re: Evaluation of DBRW Formula in VBA

You have to do the hard work of splitting up the formula in pieces, one argument is 1 piece, and work from there. Watch out for arguments that are text but contain the separator for arguments, like a comma in the name of an element. The TM1 Tools addin has code for this, have a look at it, here on t...

Re: formula for element property in hierarchy

You can consider alternative hierarchies in the most recent versions of TM1. But if the 9.5 in your profile is accurate then you could find newer versions (and that’s an understatement).

Re: formula for element property in hierarchy

Hello, Weights are always fixed: the weight of an element in (one of his) parent(s) does not change. What is the relation between bots sets of data ? Can you change the sign when loading the data ? Or use a rule to convert values such that the natural consolidations with fixed weights can do their j...

Re: Tools to copy and rename TM1 object

Hello Kenneth, Tools like Notepad++ can help you, but in the end it will always be a semi-automatic task. Good testing will be very much needed because skipping 1 or more references is not uncommon. Or cases (though unlikely) where object names are derived as variables rather than hardcoded, don't f...

Re: What are TM1 Rules Capabilities?

Indeed, rules are like Excel formulas, to calculate certain areas in a cube in a dynamic way (i.e. calculation on the fly with every refresh).

Re: Enhancing Logic

Hello, The length or number of statements is not so important. You can condense the notation by omitting the month but using an attribute to hold the previous month (and also one to hold the next month in order to feed the rule). Use DB() to refer to the previous month's value based on the attribute...

Re: Change in Element Name of a frequently used Dimension

One question i had is after Swapping the Alias with the Initial name, suppose we do not delete the Alias(which will now contain the Initial Element Name). Will this impact the existing Cubes Data/Rules/TI processes/Worksheets in a negative way i.e will they break them ? Or they will work as before ...

Re: carry forward a dimension elements to another dimension

hi, I am adding to dimension A , but I am just appending dimension b to dimension A. But dimension B can change any time and that needs to be reflected on DImension A on daily basis. So I have to unwind Dim B elements in Dim A daily and then readd dim B elements to dim A . so to append Dim B to Dim...

Re: Anyway to prevent Files to Accidentally DBRW ?

Jean, DBRW formulas on their own will not write data to a cube. Not in manual calc mode, not in automatic calc mode. So it has to be the case that you or the user enters a value over a DBRW. Or do you use a DBS function ? A DBRW formula will only show what is currently in the cube, if you do not ent...

PAW questions

Hello all, We can create a process in PAW, and the editor shows coloured functions, arguments to functions, and more of that. However, where can I indicate the data source of the process, like a subset or a text file for example ? When a process creates a dimension, it seems that a Refresh of the ob...
