Re: Direct edit dimension collection has not been cleared before commit

I've seen that error after moving to 10.2.2 FP7, but could get rid of the message by adding "DimensionUpdateDirect(DimName)" at the end of the Epilog of each process handling with direct dim updates.

Did you enable the Admin Server to support pre TLS1.2 clients in Cognos configurations?

Re: IBM Planning Analytics On Prem

UseSSL=F in tm1s.cfg has finally enabled the older client(s) under 11.0.x. The Admin Server can still be Non-SSL=False in Cognos Configuration.

Re: IBM Planning Analytics On Prem

Hi David,
using "TM1Server" the services at least appear in older clients. Then I see it working for a few seconds after a double click, but it never returns with a login prompt.
This looks like a port issue in the past, but I am still waiting for feedback from IBM.

Re: IBM Planning Analytics On Prem

There is a technote out now, which shows a couple of additional steps:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.w ... wg21998731

Certificate ID is case sensitive and must be "TM1Server" (step5).

Re: IBM Planning Analytics On Prem

I didn't fully trust the missing compatibility statement in dev works. Therefore I've raised this question once again asking IBM support, if TM1 Server 11.0.0, which comes along with Perspectives 10.3.1 (both bundled in PA local 2.0.0) would support older TM1 clients (namely 10.2.2). This is the ans...

I've had this requirement from time to time, but never started to look for a workaround (except traditional what-if dim). Would like to have the ability, so my vote for a RFE.

Re: Fix Pack Releases: 10.2 Series

I think it's really confusing to have a different naming for public and non-public interim fixes. So this public 10.2.2 FP6 IF1 is identical with the on demand 10.2.2 FP6 IF6.

Re: TM1 Crashes

Have you done your feeder optimization (maybe multiple steps) after you had turned on PersistantFeeders? Then your .feeders files contain all versions of feeding that you have tried. In such a case you should force a recreation of these files. Fastest way is to delete *.feeders while the server is d...

Re: [10.2.2] Upgrades

You can force TM1 10.2.2 FP6 to accept older clients of course. Then each tm1s.cfg needs to have following line "SupportPreTLSv12Clients=T" and the Admin server has a new entry "Support pre-TLS v1.2 Clients" in Cognos configuration, which needs to be set to "TRUE". I have successfully passed an init...

Re: TM1 10.2.2 FP6

You usually need to raise an extra service ticket to get access to the fix, if the IF doesn't appear in public Cognos TM1 10.2.2 Fix Lists.

Re: Change weight in TI

You could simply update col C in .xdi, but if you really need to have your change done using TI, then you can go ahead with Alan's approach and finally recreate the .xdi from .dim again. After the TI has made all changes, just use the Dim editor in Perspectives and add a dummy element like 123 to "y...

Re: How to create a cube snapshot using TI

If it's a single tab, which is needed in Excel, then a good workaround from my point of view is using TI to wite a .csv file. This can be set up to look like a snapshot from a cube including header elements, rows and columns. Later on the file can be opened in Excel similar to natural file formats l...

Re: Using ExecuteProcess to call other processes within a Master Process - What are the caveats?

Depending on what sources your TI's are using, it's sometimes better to first build a temporary structure in TM1 to keep the "external" uploads separate from your main data and then finally you can go and update your dimensions and cubes. This 2nd step is usally much faster because you have already ...

Re: TM1 Perspectives - Cannot view transaction log

I can remember there was a msmask32.ocx issue in earlier versions from time to time. Sometimes it came back with an error and sometimes it simply did nothing, similar to what you describe now. I have seen that on client machines as well as on Server 2008, which is mentioned in attached Technote. I e...

Re: ASCIIDelete not deleting files

Most 9.5.x had a problem with multiple data folder specified in tms.cfg, ASCIIDELETE didn't work properly in such a case.
The APAR pointed 10.x, I haven't rechecked 9.5.2 FP3 & Hotfixes. If this is your problem, you may try to write/delete your files in the last folder.

My hope was, that FP4 will solve it, but that was just my hope, it's still open.
I had a 3 months fight with IBM to get it finally accepted as bug. That happened on Jun 19.

Re: Does more RAM slow down server start times?

If your servers have a different number of cores, are you sure, that you run the same processor architecture with same clocking?
This is the first thing to make sure, as both criteria, cube load and feeder processing, have a direct link to these properties.
