Re: Create rule for Projection
Hi I think you need to go back to your first version rather than continue with the dtype check. Don't see why you'd need this in this case. SKIPCHECK; ['Revenue PROJ']=if(ATTRN('Time', !Time, 'IsClosed') = 0, ['Revenue'], ['last 6 months','Revenue']/6); FEEDERS; ['last 6 months','Revenue']=>['Revenu...

Re: Cube with about 40 dimensions + BI layer anyone ever tri
For anyone interested.
I still think it is horrible design but it worked as good as I had hoped (and then some).
The only report we failed was one which would have generated a result set of 250000 lines
Next step is trying to get some more reasonable business requirements though...

Re: Cube with about 40 dimensions + BI layer anyone ever tri
And @Wim, I already knew that this would never be workeable using server explorer.
In business insight I hope to get away with it as the dimension selection will be less confusing in there (I think :p)
Anyways I'll test it and see how far I get.

Re: Cube with about 40 dimensions + BI layer anyone ever tri
As said I am well aware that this is very bad design and that if this is what is really needed (*) there may be other tools more suitable than TM1 for this. What happened as far as I can tell is that an inexperienced development team let the business users define what should be built. Since these pe...

Cube with about 40 dimensions + BI layer anyone ever tried?
Hi, short: wondering whether anyone has ever tried this and if so what the results were. TM1: single very sparse cube, no calculation rules except for a few C: level ones, but about 40 dimensions. Varying in number of elements between a few, to tens of thousands for the largest 10 or so. I am guessi...

Performance of TM1Recalc 9.5 vs 9.0 WTF?!?
Hi, I have never been busy a lot with the 'excel side' of TM1 but recently I was contacted by a client who built a lot of macro's on TM1 and who was testing an upgrade from 9.0 to 9.5 To make a long story short comparatively their macro's were performing 200-400% slower on 9.5. So we did a number of...

Re: Grabage memory runs away
As I understand it opening and closing large views in itself does not create garbage memory. It only creates garbage memory when the results in these views are no longer valid. (i.e. when the underlying data or what TM1 thinks is the underlying data anyways) changes. Restarting the service would giv...

Re: Registering IIS
Hi Ajay, I just did an install of 9.5.1 x64 on a 2K8 Server using IIS7 I used the windows powershell method from the link below which worked http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlblog/archive/2010/01/08/how-to-install-net-framework-3-5-sp1-on-windows-server-2008-r2-environments.aspx Btw I don't know whether yo...

Re: windows 2008R2 / Tomcat driving me insane :)
Ok for those interested. I used JRE-6u31-windows-x64 and Apache-Tomcat-6.0.33 on a clean install but this time on an english version. Installed the jre (run as admin) to C:\java\jre6 then ran the tomcat.exe as admin and installed to Tomcat 6.0 did not even have to set any of the environment variable...

Re: windows 2008R2 / Tomcat driving me insane :)
The environment variables were all set as they should be. However I *think* I have it working now :) the combination that finally seems to have done the trick for me was jdk6u21-windows-64.exe with Tomcat 6.0.33 self extractor and avoiding program files like the plague - don't know if that is actual...

Re: windows 2008R2 / Tomcat driving me insane :)
I will try whether the jdk makes any difference. Just noticed that when you put the environment variable on a path C:\program files\ and then do an echo in dos it will reply with C:\Program Files (x86) which explains the problem from my previous post. Don't know yet whether this would be solved afte...

Re: windows 2008R2 / Tomcat driving me insane :)
Just some more information to explain why I am going insane here :) First off I am working with a French version of Windows 2008 R2. In this version apparently they have some sort of alias on the program files folder. I.e. if you look at windows explorer you will see C:\Programmes C:\Program Files (...

windows 2008R2 / Tomcat driving me insane :)
Hi, hoping someone has some experience with this. I am trying to install tm1 9.5.1 x64 on a windows 2008 R2 server. The problem I have is that I haven't even gotten to the TM1 part as I need Tomcat (using contributor) and I can't get that to work. IBM documentation on it is non-existant and tbh docu...

Re: firefox 12 & TM1 9.5.2 / 10.1
Thanks for the input so far. And to make things clear. I am not blaming IBM in any way for this. I am just looking for people with RL experience in this and trying to find out whether there are any major *known* issues which would definitely deter me from making the upgrade. So in the absence of any...

firefox 12 & TM1 9.5.2 / 10.1
Hi, I was wondering whether anyone has any experience with firefox 12 in combination with TM1 9.5.2 / 10.1 both web & contributor. We are currently using firefox 12 in combination with web/contributor version 9.5.1 without issues and are considering upgrading to TM1 version 9.5.2 or 10.1 but the...

Re: Actual and planning cubes different member names problem
- Yes you can use a prefix instead of !order time you can put 'ORDER ' | !order time Keep in mind that you would need to get rid of the 'order' part in your feeder though. So when feeding from the other cube you will need to use a subst function to get rid of the order part. - Another option would b...

Re: Locking out some admins
I don't know whether you have a seperate development environment or not but if you have
the easy option seems to be to only give them admin level access to the dev environment (and not make the sensitive data available in there).

In my experience there are no issues using 9.5.1 clients with a 9.5.2 server.
