Re: Picklist in reports
This isn't necessarily a planning analytics question. If macros are on the table, then put together an On Event routine to handle this (flagging the document.saved=true). Otherwise, stand this up as a template file on the Applications and tell your users to ignore it

Vinod,

Re: CAFE & Excel 2013
Hello, We experienced this. Do you happen to be using other add-ins in Excel. When examining the dump logs, we found these older (non-supported) add-ins were the root cause. For some reason, CAFE didn't work nicely with them. You may want to try examining the dump logging, or asking your help desk t...

Re: Format zeros as blank in planning analytics
I raised this with IBM. They mentioned that the number formatting must be on "0.00" for this to work. They mentioned it would be fixed in future releases.
I found this on 10.2.2 FP3.

Hi,
Have you checked the TM1 Web configuration for the setting that governs the sheets calculating on activation?

One option might be to use the Enable Bulk Load Mode.

Re: Creation of Cascade Style Sheet
Alan,
Thank you for the response. I agree with you regarding the size of the report. I wasn't involved when it was created and I advised the client around breaking this out (unsuccessfully). I will look into your recommendation around caching the data into memory on the server.

Creation of Cascade Style Sheet
I am in a situation where a client is upset at the time it takes to initially open a very large and complex Active form on the web as a websheet. The workbook itself has 30+ worksheets and multiple active form sections on each sheet. This workbook takes about 9 minutes to load the cascading style sh...

Based on the calculation, I anticipate you would need to feed from 2 of the 3 terms: I evaluated your rule as essentially A-(B*C) ['dim1','dim2','dim3','dim4','dim5',dim6']=N: DB('Cube1','dim1',!dim2,'dim3',!dim4,!dim5,'dim6','dim7','dim8',ELPAR('dim9',!dim9,index),'dim10')-(DB('Cube1', 'dim1', !dim...

One of our clients is using Executive Viewer for most of their reporting/analysis. We are running into slow performance with EV so I thought I'd ask for opinions...the background: 1) EV view that uses alot of custom formulas to retrieve data runs slow. 2) We have created facisimilies of the EV view ...

Re: 952 PI - management of multithreaded processes
I don't disable the schedule, I just make sure that the criteria will only successful one time every day. I have a 2 logs occurring for every chore. One is to indicate chore is in progress, and one is when chore is complete. The chore will only execute when the chore is not in progress and not compl...

Re: 952 PI - management of multithreaded processes
PlanningDev, How do you control the serial updates for dimensions? Do you put all of the dimension updates in a chore to serialize them? Also, does anyone know if you can run dimension updates in parallel as long as they don't have security and aren't related to any of the same cube objects? I am un...

@= is required when youre conducting a conditional statement to evaluate a string.
For Example:
if (<Current Version> @= 'Plan' );
Then ....
Endif;

Re: 952 PI - management of multithreaded processes
Maybe I'm missing something, but I think that your approach ensures that your processes run in sequence, not in parallel. What I'm trying to do is to force a massive amount of calculation through a large complex model in less time than happens now, utilising multiple cores to calculate distinct par...

Re: 952 PI - management of multithreaded processes
Forumers may recall the humungous model I have which takes days to process. I've been liaising with IBM on using PI to parallel process the calculations, which led to 952 FP1 HF6, which significantly improves process time (reduced by a factor of 200). I'm now exploring how to manage such a set of p...
