Re: Tm1 MDX - set element collapse using element name in dimension

But, I would like to pass the element to drill down the particular element in dimension and save to subset or dimension itself. I don't really understand your question, but you're talking about two incompatible concepts here. There is no way to pass anything to a subset or dimension. Subsets don't ...

Re: Creating a }Picklist cube in a TI process

SaveDataAll doesn't seem to make any difference. What I have discovered is that the picklist works the first time the cube is created, but once it's established I can't delete it and re-create the picklist cube. For now I'm just going to leave it if it already exists and replace the rule file. That ...

Creating a }Picklist cube in a TI process

Hi all, I'm trying to create a picklist cube for an existing cube using a Turbo Integrator process. I'm creating a cube with the correct name (}Picklist_Cube_Name) with the same dimensionality as the original cube with the addition of the }Picklist dimension as the final dimension. I'm then attachin...

Re: Tm1 restapi in C# app

I have played around with the REST API in C#. I got my test scenarios working with authentication, but can't guarantee it'll work in every case.

If you continue to have issues, PM me and I'll send you some code examples. I probably won't have time to dig through the code until the weekend.

Re: Using Alternative Hierarchies to calc stock balances

Hey Steve, sorry for the late reply. The customer is on 11.1.0.30 (according the the properties on the tm1s.exe file) or TM1SERVER-AW64-ML-RTM-11.1.00000.30-0 according to the cmplst.txt. It's PA "Express" on-prem. If there's anything I can do to help you out, shoot me a PM. I'd be happy to review y...

Re: Using Alternative Hierarchies to calc stock balances

I tried it with the good ole' DB formula and it worked. Thanks to those who gave advice, it got me thinking in the right direction. I'd say the lesson learnt is to avoid the CellValueN function for now, as it seems to behave differently from the way it is documented. For those interested in this, th...

Re: Using Alternative Hierarchies to calc stock balances

As far as I know, the DB function does not support alternative hierarchies. To check, I tried as you suggested and got a syntax error "missing right parenthesis": ['CSOH Quantity'] = N: DB('MFP Scenario Planning', !GBL Company, !MFP Scenario, !MFP Selling Season, !MFP Product Lifecycle Status, !GBL ...

Using Alternative Hierarchies to calc stock balances

Hi all, I'm new to alt hierarchies, so looking for some advice from the trailblazers! I'm trying an approach utilising alternative hierarchies in PA 2,0 to calculate stock balances. The goal is to store the movements and calculate the balance in any particular week. The approach is as follows: We ha...

A couple of strange TM1 bugs

So I have come across two very annoying TM1 bugs in the past few days. Thought I'd share and see if anyone else has had the same experiences. Problem 1 I'm not sure exactly what conditions cause this, but it seems TI processes with lots of parameters cause Action Buttons in TM1Web / Contributor to s...

Re: Shorthand vs Longhand impact on performance?

Rules are supposedly compiled, so in theory it should make no difference. TM1 is a quirky beast, though, so if you have some evidence it might, I'd be interested to hear it.

Re: TM1 connecting to a Web Service

TM1 does not have any built in functionality to connect to external web services. If you would like to import data from a web source, you would need to write a custom executable or script to do the work. Many approaches are possible. For instance, the program/script might poll the web service period...

Re: Compare Rules/TI processes for Production and Developmen

Flow Genesis will do this for you, but the future of that product is in doubt . I'm considering continuing it in a free version if there's any interest. You can also use freeware tools like WinMerge, SVN, etc, to do a similar thing, as I did before I developed tools to do it for me. I posted a blog ...

Re: The Performance Modeler Error

I'm not sure if it's the same issue, but I had heaps of issues installing 10.2.0.0 64-bit on Windows 7: I couldn't run Configuration Manager until I replaced the file JCAM_Crypto.dll in the bin folder with the similarly named one from the bin64 folder Sometimes the tm1_64\webapps\tm1web folder would...

Re: TM1 Web - Embed custom javascript

If your main purpose is to hide columns, there might be better ways to do this. I doubt that hacking the TM1Web aspx files (if you're on an older version) or the Java files would end up being a robust solution, even if you could get it to work in the version of TM1Web you are running. If you determi...

Re: How to set a filter on a string member?

Just thinking outside the box a little, is there any reason you couldn't build a reporting cube for this? What you have is a classic case of what I call an "Item Based" input cube. Why not create another cube that includes all the columns you would like to filter by as dimensions? Here's an article ...

Sadly, due to a lack of interest and support, the Genesis product will be discontinued in it's current form. More detail on the reasoning behind this decision can be found on the Flow blog .
