Re: PAx - DBRW/DBRS only when requested

Thanks! It is a bummer though, cause nesting gets me the efficiency. I'll try to reorganize everything and see if I can build it in a similar way with no nesting. Agreed. There are times when the nesting can be extremely helpful, especially when you are creating input forms. For data retrieval form...

Most of these are also nested in other standard excel formulas. The file works great, except can be very slow at times.
Nesting DBRW/DBR stops Stargate views from working. That's why it is slow. Remove all the nesting and try again.

Re: How to get - TI parameters labels and inputs on run time

Is there a way or function to dynamically pull all parameters labels and inputs on runtime in TI Process? For example GetProcessName(0) returns the current process being executed. I'm not sure what you are asking but you don't need to "pull" the input value to a parameter at runtime, it's going to ...

Re: Executing Java application through TM1 process

but how do I create something (like a button, process, or whatever) inside the TM1 (or it's web application) to run that same Java app, so that user can run it and see for himself while inside the application? :geek: :geek: Therein lies the rub. The REST API is all about retrieving data from a TM1 ...

Re: SubsetElementInsert

So on ViewSubsetAssign I can only put the default subset of dimension and it will pick all n elements? Thanks a lot, JR No, that's not what he is saying. If you create a view for the purpose of zeroing out AND you do not specifically assign a subset for a dimension in the cube AND Skip Consolidatio...

Re: Oracle ODBC set to Cognos TM1

So, you want to extract data from TM1 into Oracle using ODBC? You can't. TM1 does not expose it's data via ODBC. You can extract data from a TM1 cube using ODBO. Your best bet to get data from TM1 to Oracle is to push it from the TM1 side using the TurboIntegrator tool. You can execute SQL commands ...

None whatsoever if the purpose of the view is to serve as a data source in a TI process. This function is only useful when creating views to be consumed in the cube viewer.

Re: Planning Analytics - Refresh Attribute Hierarchies

You would have thought IBM would have considered making this a bit easier Having an automated process for this doesn't sell software. Having the attribute-based hierarchies in an easy to demo web tool does. Simple as that. I'm sure they'll eventually get around to it if they can focus on day-to-day...

Re: TM1 Service Error

You're asking for updated SSL keys for a piece of software that was released 11 years ago. I'm pretty sure you won't be able to get that from IBM since it's been out of support for years. I certainly don't have it and even if I did, it is against the policy of this board to share those types of files.

Re: How to reference data lines as variables in TI?

Aren't using expand to translate values from an input field into a variable name so you can update a cube. Why would you ever have a variable name with decimal places in it like "0.123456789"? The only thing I would see this being a problem is if you were using EXPAND to create an SQL string for ins...

Re: How to reference data lines as variables in TI?

Any suggestions on how to get around the truncation issue? my values are all decimal places eg 0.00123456, the process requires a higher degree of accuracy :D What truncation issue would you be referring to? I didn't see anything in your post about a truncation issue. TM1 is going to load whatever ...

Re: Saved cube views with extremely large width

Exit Perspectives and delete the tm1p.ini file on that machine and let TM1 re-create it the next time you run Perspectives. You may have to search for it but it is usually at %USERPROFILE%\user name\AppData\Roaming\Applix\TM1\.

Re: GetProcessErrorFileName()

It didn't work because there's a bug in your logic; when you execute the ItemReject the Prolog stops executing and moves on, exactly as it does if you That makes sense. I changed the logic to this and it works like I want it to now: Prolog: IF(FILEEXISTS(sFile) = 0); PrologError = 1; ITEMREJECT('Hi...

Try this: sPath = CELLGETS('Global Variables', 'Value', 'Path to Hierarchy Files'); IF(FILEEXISTS(sPath | pFileName) = 0); DATASOURCETYPE= 'NULL'; ITEMREJECT('File is missing'); PROCESSBREAK; ELSE; DATASOURCENAMEFORSERVER= sPath | pFileName; ENDIF; That doesn't work, the process still tries to open...

Re: GetProcessErrorFileName()

Can't you just avoid the fatal error? Test for the existence of the source file and if it isn't there set datasource type to null and itemreject to create the error file. Then on the epilog pick up the error file name ... Thanks for the idea. That's what i was thinking I was going to have to do, I ...

GetProcessErrorFileName()

I've got a process that uses a text file as a data source, with the name of the file to be processed one of the input parameters. If a user provides an incorrect file name the process obviously bombs and produces an error log file. I would like to get the name of that error log file using GetProcess...
