Re: Sorting consolidations dynamically

In the Dimension Editorovw the elements in the correct order. Then set the order of the indexes by clicking the last icon of the menu bar. This only works when you intend to maintain the dimension manually. If it is maintained by TI this will not work. Realistically, it's not practical unless these...

Re: Missing object access after copy from Prod to Dev

I didn't say DELETE them. I said EXCLUDE them from the copy so that those two objects on dev will not be touched during the copy down. You can't copy prod client to dev because you're using native TM1 for one and CAM for the other. Leave the CAM users alone and it should work fine, although you may ...

Re: Missing object access after copy from Prod to Dev

I have system A that have: 1) TM1 native login in Prod 2) Cognos authentication method in Dev Given these facts, I don't see how you can expect to copy from Prod to Dev and have it work UNLESS you specifically EXCLUDE the }Clients dimension and the }ClientGroups cube because the clients in a native...

Re: TM1 Perspectives - Prompt when closing Excel?

Closing all open Excel workbooks does not cause open TM1 boxes to close. I just verified that. Closing Excel itself does cause all open TM1 objects to close. What do you expect? Perspectives is an Excel ad-in. No Excel then no Perspectives. Also, if you have changed a view, or subset, then you will ...

Re: How to import a CSV file to a cube with two extra dimensions

Whoever made the decision to load to all the members of the non-represented dimensions does not understand TM1 and the consequences of that. Standard practice is to create a member in each of these dimensions called "No account", or "No Cost Center", etc., and load the data there.

I'm pretty sure the TM1 SAP Connector is no longer a product offered by IBM. I think that is part of the TM1 Package Connector, which I have never used.

Re: Holds via a Ti

Yes, I can confirm that I thought the user was talking about a lock and not a hold, which is why I gave that example. My mistake. I wasn't being presumptuous, just guilty of not paying complete attention to the user's question.

Re: Holds via a Ti

Of course you can do this via TI. You just need to CELLPUTS the name of the ID to hold the lock to the }ElementProperties cube, like this:

Code: Select all

CUBELOCKOVERRIDE(1);
CELLPUTS('admin', sPropertiesCube, pElement, 'LOCK');

Re: Notepad++ 7.6 for TM1 process and Rules

The fact that you have to bounce the server in order to use any of the TI code changes you make in Notepad++ make it a non-starter for me. That negates any benefit you get from a better search and replace, etc. I haven't seen the new TI editor in PA but it can't possibly be worse than what has been ...

Re: Dropdown list in Chrome for TM1 Web not responding

As ridiculous as it sounds, as we approach 2019, Internet Explorer is still the gold standard in the corporate world. Companies feel that as long it works in IE they are OK as far as browser compatibility is concerned.

FYI, the bedrock processes call each other recursively. Changing names is going to break that unless you went into the code of each process and changed it there too.

Re: One vs Two Time Dimensions

Just as a heads up, if you're going from 10.2.2 to PA2.0+ then expect a significant increase in RAM consumption. We are moving to the cloud and our production server uses about 50GB or RAM. When we moved it to the cloud at 64GB it wouldn't even come up. We are having to upgrade our cloud environment...

Re: How Do I Protect Password on ODBCOpen

Are there any solution to this problem with Oracle DB? The only thing I know that you can do is store the Oracle and ID and password in a text file in a share that only the TM1 service account has access to. You have a wrapper process that uses this file as a data source that reads the ID and passw...

You own TM1 (which is quite expensive BTW) and no one in your organization knows how to use it nor has any documentation? You can just Google, it will give you plenty of links to online docs.

Re: TM1 Perspectives on Network vs Stand-Alone

As I suspected, you have created a local set of dimensions and cubes. You can't really "share" these. You can copy the contents of your C:/Users/itsupport.CFB/Desktop/CFB folder to a network share and then point your Data Directory there. Others can point their TM1 to the same place but only one per...

Re: TM1 Perspectives on Network vs Stand-Alone

Are you talking about adding a new TM1 service to the TM1 server or are you talking about local cubes and dimensions you have built on your local PC? You need to show us two things; 1) a screen shot of the settings for Perspectives/Architect and 2) a screen shot of the Architect/Perspectives tree on...

Thank you Tomok. So the only way, is to look into the cube and see if the intersection between the user and the group is non empty? I want to do it in a spreadsheet. it becomes a little cumbersome.
