Re: degrading performance issue with TI

Have you checked your memory? If it is slowing down after repeated processing that would be the first place I would look. You've probably used up all available RAM for stargate views and now it is having to resort to paging.

Re: Error Creating View Array

The issue is that all the views use mdx code to retrieve the version, none are hard written (therefore I assume not in need of fixing), I posted the mdx in my first comment. So the subset is MDX, great. Does it resolve to another actual member in your Versions dimension AFTER you removed the versio...

Re: Error Creating View Array

The problem is that after I run the process to delete the old version and then I try to open a view I get an error saying “Error Creating View Array” and the system crashes This is the error you get when you delete an element from a dimension and that element is part of the saved view you are tryin...

Re: Security Mode 5 with TM1 Native Groups

but the problem is that Active Directory User does not show until the Users signs in in TM1 That is correct and it is one of the limitations of what you are proposing. That (and a ton of other reasons) is why I HATE using CAM. Just add the users manually and use IntegratedSecurityMode = 3. Only AD ...

Re: Security Mode 5 with TM1 Native Groups

It's neither good or bad. It depends on your situation and how you're going to be able to assign the users to the groups. If having the groups in TM1 only helps you manage the security better then I would say it's "good".

I addressed this on my YouTube channel last week.
I'd love to watch your shows/webisodes/whatever they're called. Not just to learn more about this topic but also to see if you really do look just like Mark Harmon.

Re: TM1RunTI in PA 2.0.3 with password file

I thought I can copy tm1runti.exe from C:\Program Files\IBM\cognos\tm1_64\bin64 on TM1 10.2.2 server and put it into PA2.0.3 environment to make it work. After testing, it apparently doesn't work. I didn't do the upgrade on existing 10.2.2 but just a new fresh installation of PA2.0.3. A pretty mass...

TM1 is smart enough to know what needs to be calculated. You don't need to waste your time worrying about stuff like this.

If you are an admin then changes you make or going to be to the public view(s). You have to delete the files AND restart the TM1 service.

Re: How to reset views and tabs in TM1 applications web

Are you deleting the public views (the .blb files in the main data directory and the .vue files in the folder for each cube) OR the private views (the files underneath the folder with each user's ID? It makes a huge difference.

Re: Reducing Time to Process Feeders

However, it is generally possible to have a feederless design with C-level rules and not use ConsolidateChildren. I have used this technique in some really large cubes and it scaled very well and provided good performance. qml, I'm curious to know more about this. Were you able to design the rules ...

Multiple TM1 Applications on one Application Server

I've not had much experience with Contributor so I'm hoping someone here can give me some insight with a few questions. I am advising a company that uses TM1 but did not have a development environment (it's a long story) and they wanted to be able to play around without messing up their production c...

Re: Change in Element Name of a frequently used Dimension

I had another albeit a crazy idea, thinking of putting it out here. What if i stop the server and do a complete subdirectory search of the DATA folder and carry out a 'find and replace' of the dimension Element to its new element name? And then restarting the server. The files that you would need t...

Re: Audit Log Configuration

The audit log is going to contain all the entries to whenever it was either first started or the last time it was stopped and restarted, just like with the tm1server.log file. However, that may be affected by how much disk space you have as the audit log can grow exponentially in a very short order ...

Re: Audit Log Configuration

I am trying to change how far back my Audit Log files go Such a property does not exist. If you stop and think about it for a minute you'll understand why. Log files in TM1 are simple text files that TM1 appends to every time a loggable event occurs. If you want to control "how far back they go" yo...

Re: TI process is not getting executed from a Worksheet Application. Please help kind folks!

Are you sure the Action Button is still tied to the TI process? I have had occasions when editing an action button causes it to lose it's linkage to a TI process, especially where you have the server name tied to a cell. Open up the workbook in Perspectives, right-click on the button and make sure i...

Re: Using your own custom wildcard certificates to secure Planning Analytics with Cognos Analytics Authentication

I think most people just say why bother? Do you really need to secure the traffic between your TM1 server and the various clients, especially if everything is behind a firewall? Even if it's not behind a firewall, do you need it to be more secure than it would be using the IBM certificates? Even if ...

Re: Active form on the Web in conjunction with zero-set suppression

The TM1RPTVIEW formula has an argument for zero suppression, either 0 or 1. Create a drop-down in cell, with data validation, that accepts either 0 or 1 and point the argument to that cell. User can then select to turn zero suppression on or off with this drop-down.

Re: Is TM1 dimension index important?

The dimension index number has absolutely nothing to do with the parent child relationship of elements. It is simply the order of the dimension element in a list when the dimension was saved. When you create and save a dimension in TM1 (unless you used an XDI worksheet), the index numbers are automa...

Re: Commented SKIPCHECK causing cube load errors and stack overflow?

I think what TM1 is trying to tell you is that you have some problems with your rules. Stack overflow is from too many dependencies in the rules. What I mean is Z is dependent on Y, which is dependent on X, which is dependent on W,.....and so forth. It could be that taking off SKIPCHECK exposed this...
