Re: Removing user when using CAM security

To a certain extent, if the user is removed from AD, then they will not be able to sign in to TM1 anyway. However, it is tidier to remove the user from TM1 as well. Thanks for the info Paul. I agree with you and to me it isn't an issue for a disabled ID to stay in TM1 but the auditors see it differ...

Removing user when using CAM security

I've never really spent time with CAM other than to work with a TM1 system where it has already been set up. I understand that users automatically get created in TM1 when a CAM user logs in the first time. My question is about removing users when they leave the company. Are users automatically remov...

Re: attributes in data tab

In database terms metadata represents the structure in the tables; columns, indexes, etc. Data is the rows in the table. Since attribute values are data it is be done in the Data tab. If you were adding an attribute to a dimension, meaning the structure, and not actually adding the values for the at...

Re: }ElementAttributes_ not updated with attributes

By chance are the alias attribute values missing the same as the element name? Whenever you have an alias set on a dimension and you have one or more alias values that are the same as the elements then TM1 will not accept those values in the }ElementAttributes_ cube. There were still be a value for ...

Re: Deleting elements from dimension

Obviously, the DimensionElementDelete function is quite simple. What is not so simple, and what I think the OP is after, is how to filter to just the elements that match the criteria he specified, namely those invoices create/posted/??? after a specific date. The first requirement is going to be som...

Re: TI Process - Meta Data Behavior

Go back to the person that is creating the file and ask them to use something else as the delimiter. My personal preference is the pipe character, "|", as that is rarely in data. They could also use tabs, or any other character that is unlikely to be embedded in the data.

Re: MDX query using more than one cube.

Here's what I would do: 1) Create a zero-suppressed active form report on Cube A. This would give you the rows where the IsActive value is 1. Add a VIEW statement for Cube B. For the rest of the report use DBRW formulas that point to Cube B and the new VIEW statement. The caveat is this is really on...

Re: [Postman] Unexpected token : yes but where ?!

Is TM1 so difficult for newbies ? I have worked for 15 years on webapps and Java developments... To be fair, you are not really using TM1. You are using Postman to access data from TM1 via the REST API. Almost no one, except app developers like yourself, would ever dream of using the REST API. TM1 ...

Re: Data Saves not completing and retriggering 10.2.2 FP4

You really should NEVER have any other processes running when a Save Data is taking place, it's just going to cause problems. Turning on PI is not going to help because Save Data saves the entire cube at once, not just the area you changed. You need to go back and create a schedule that ensures that...

Re: Order of Cube-Processing

Okay, got it. Thx. But, to stay with my example. I tested that A is processed before C. So can I say that all C's are processed before another A is selected or is this mixed? If you really want know what order you are going to get just take your view, use it as a data source, and instead of writing...

Re: Order of Cube-Processing

The only way you can guarantee the order is going to be to create the subsets in the order you want (which you have already done), but instead of creating a view you cycle through all the combinations with a nested loop and do a CELLGETN statement to get the value. You'll be giving up zero suppressi...

Re: TI Problem

When you run a process via ExecuteProcess, the syntax is normally ExecuteProcess(Param1Name, Param1Value, Param2Name, Param2Value...ParamXName, ParamXValue). Your code is ExecuteProcess(Param1Value, Param2Value). You are not passing the name of the parameter. If you look at your error message screen...

From your posts it sounds like you are using Perspectives. Have you not heard of the Print Report functionality in Perspectives that can take a report and generate either a PDF or range-valued Excel file out of it?

Re: Best Cube Design for a Financial Model

Gross Margin is used the most and will have to contain an allocation model Tread very carefully here. If you attempt to do this via rules you may be less than pleased with the results, as far as performance is concerned. It may work fine in development but once you roll it out and the cube is amped...

Re: Active Form with Perspectives

In order for this to work everything for the zero-suppressed view have to be in contiguous columns. The columns you want to provide via a VIEW statement must be out to the right of the zero-suppressed section of the active form. If you mix them up the zero suppression won't work.

Re: Web Dashboards via REST API

Since what you will be doing is agnostic as to the data source I'm sure there are plenty of dashboarding toolkits that can deal with data in JSON format. Have you tried Googling that? If you are somewhat ambitious and have some web development experience there is always jQuery and jQueryMobile. Alth...
